[Discord] <iamrood> @efectn Hey there! No pressure just checking up on the wifi adapter issue on the OPI5b 😄

<Hammdist>
hey all any change that raspberry pi zero 2 w could work with armbian?
<Hammdist>
there is a page for the zero but my understanding is the zero 2 is different
<Hammdist>
any chance*
<Hammdist>
ah wait my bad
<Hammdist>
the rpi4b page clarifies that it is correct one to use for zero 2 w and it is expected to work
<Hammdist>
personally I think every board should have its own page - even if they run the same image - there is no telling when an image might break on one supported board but not on others

<Hammdist>
ho hum. one of my rpi5 boards won't boot into the recovery sd card image
<Hammdist>
the screen does not turn either green (as expected) or red (as expected in case of error). instead I get the bootloader screen and it seems to indicate it can't boot the sole partition
<Hammdist>
I have tried with 2 different SD cards
<Hammdist>
the bootloader shows 5855b10b in the bottom right corner of the screen ... anyone knows how to tell how recent this is?

[Discord] <tenkawa42> Hammdist: initial research shows mismatched/bad dtb
<DC-IRC>
[Discord] <tenkawa42> are they all same model pi 5?
<Hammdist>
strings to the rescue - pieeprom-2025-06-13.bin - 5855b10b2bd22b2a116dc91f6b5b1bc4b2ea849f ... so right now it is running a bootloader from mid last year
<DC-IRC>
[Discord] <tenkawa42> Do you have any diff rev ones by chance?
<Hammdist>
that means the bootloader upgrade was definitely unsuccessful as I tried to flash with the latest
<Hammdist>
I only have one ginuea pig rpi5
<DC-IRC>
[Discord] <tenkawa42> be careful there too... the newer revs with certain memory got a diff file (I think it was only for the 16gb ram model)
<Hammdist>
are you sure that applies to eeprom recovery? I thought those images were "universal"
<Hammdist>
at any rate I have only the 8gb model
<DC-IRC>
[Discord] <tenkawa42> I'd have to go look at the FreeBSD mailing list however I know they had a lot of pain with it
<DC-IRC>
[Discord] <tenkawa42> I can't remember the details... I think its just the is since I don't think they use the eeprom at all.
<DC-IRC>
[Discord] <tenkawa42> er os

<Hammdist>
however I tried from the "official" rpi imager and I was able to update the bootloader in EEPROM ... so I guess it's just those released on github that don't work
<Hammdist>
oh geez
<Hammdist>
I only now notice that there are different flavors of it in different releases ... 2712 vs 2711 ... so I probably just picked the wrong one
<DC-IRC>
[Discord] <iamrood> So, i can install the latest image i downloaded (from like a week or so ago) and use armbian-config to switch and then it will download everything by itself to the lastest nightly build?
<DC-IRC>
[Discord] <random_anon_cesar> I personally havent used the rolling/nigthly branch (im not one of the developers, just someone who's on this discord lol)
<DC-IRC>
[Discord] <random_anon_cesar> but switching to rolling/nightly should change the apt repo from apt.armbian.com to beta.armbian.com for the latest packages
<DC-IRC>
[Discord] <random_anon_cesar> you can check which repo you're currently on my checking
<DC-IRC>
[Discord] <efectn> Not yet fixed will send overlay today
<DC-IRC>
[Discord] <iamrood> oh ok!! Thank you!!

<DC-IRC>
[Discord] <janela61> can anyone please tell me if the very first Radxa Zero is still supported (or whether the universal ARM images work on it without any problems)
