it's a bit silly, but i'm using jtag-openocd (with the explicit hang commented out) as a manual GPIO applet at the moment
<
whitequark[cis]>
haha, yeah i can see how that would work
<
whitequark[cis]>
do you just type into the socket?
<
jn>
and i removed the hang because i use the enter key to deal with nc's line buffering (it's more convenient than ^D)
<
jn>
(the applet normally hangs on unknown command inputs)

<
Wanda[cis]>
you can have a hacky gpio applet with glasgow repl jtag-pinout
<
Wanda[cis]>
the gateware portion of it is basically just gpio on a stick
<
Wanda[cis]>
and it gives you up to 16 pins, too
<
jn>
ah, makes sense
<
whitequark[cis]>
you can use socat to avoid buffering
<
Wanda[cis]>
(the above comes with absolutely no warranty nor stability, but it works right now as a quick and dirty hack)
<
jn>
i tried socat but
*something* didn't work, i probably ran into the explicit hang; but this setup is very temporary anyway :)
<
Wanda[cis]>
(also you didn't hear it from me)
