<kris_> the brain worms finally won and i'm testing out seatd + turnstile instead of elogind
* kris_ is going back to elogind
<sewn> you suxk
<kris_> sewn polkit stuff :(
<sewn> noob
<kris_> meanie
<sewn> sowwy
<sewn> how is that relevant though
<sewn> polkit shouldn't interfere with turnstile
<kris_> oh, no, it doesn't
<kris_> i was attempting to replace elogind with seatd + turnstile
<kris_> i have no use for user services so i don't care about that part of turnstile
<kris_> there are some polkit things that kinda need elogind so i wasn't able to get my file manager and otherwise to mount other drives in the system
<kris_> at which point, the only point turnstile has is tracking ssh stuff
<kris_> albeit that is the only issue i have with that setup so i totally could just mount my other drive via typical commands
<midfavila> kris_: why do you use any of that
<midfavila> legitimate question
<midfavila> i only use shadow
<kris_> seatd is more or less needed for wayland compositors
<midfavila> lame
<kris_> *or* elogind
<midfavila> another reason to avoid wayland
<kris_> you have no reasons to avoid it
<midfavila> aside from having to redo my entire workflow
<midfavila> :P
<kris_> but as for turnstile, i ssh around constantly and dont want to enter my passphrase every time so elogind or turnstile keeps that open
<kris_> and interact with my virt server over ssh via virt-manager which will otherwise spam me with prompts
<midfavila> ah
<midfavila> you can't just put an ssh key on it or whatever?
<kris_> anyway elogind seems like a less sucky solution
<kris_> at least for rn especially because i could not care less about user services
<kris_> if i want to run something as a user i'll just chpst
<kris_> midfavila i don't know, maybe? this is just the most cut and dry solution that covers everything
<midfavila> hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
