<midfavila> polebytes: have you checked your package manifest and the build script for the package?
<midfavila> also, check your $PATH
<midfavila> looks like pine64 is discontinuing the pinephone pro
<midfavila> in favour of >AI
<midfavila> who the hell decided to reallocate resources like that???
<midfavila> time to double down on the uconsole then i guess

<sad_plan> midfavila: I was curious about that one aswell. noticed it the other day...
<midfavila> honestly pine64 has been going downhill for a long time now
<midfavila> i don't know if i'll continue with their stuff in the future
<midfavila> the pinenote is good, mind
<midfavila> but like
<midfavila> the pinebook and iirc the pinebook pro have been iffy in terms of availability and quality
<midfavila> the pinephone has been iffy in terms of quality as have accessories for it
<midfavila> etcetera
<midfavila> i do like that they're producing riscv hardware though

<sad_plan> I get that. I was initially kinda stoked about the pinephone, hoping it would be more successfull. if anything, hoping the ppp was better, but it wasnt really all that much better.
<sad_plan> riscv hardware is interesting though
<sad_plan> not that I have a usecase for it yet, but still. hell even arm pc hardware is iffy by many standards because of software availability.. I am however looking forward to the mnt reform next.
<midfavila> i'm probably going to take some of my existing mnt reform's hardware and get the basic boards for the next and then fab my own chassis so i can fit a custom display and keeb
<midfavila> and maybe a little SATA setup inside idk
<sad_plan> neat
<sad_plan> hm. I havent wanted a watch for years, but I stumbled upon watchy on crow supply, and i actually looks mildly interesting
<sad_plan> every other clock these days is utter trash with too many features imo..
<midfavila> watchy is interesting except for the fact that it crams every feature under the sun into its mainboard, has shit battery life as a result, and also isn't even slightly water resistant
<midfavila> the sensor watch would be more useful imho
<midfavila> terrorist watch +1
<sad_plan> touche. is that on crowdsupply aswell?
<midfavila> yes
<sad_plan> I supose what made me interested was the fact that it had better battery life than a lot of other stuff. also it had fully customizable watch faces
<sad_plan> oh, right, I saw tat one
<sad_plan> dont you need the actuall clock for that? what they sell is just the internals
<midfavila> yeah but the f91w is like
<midfavila> 10$
<midfavila> if that
<sad_plan> I see
<sad_plan> how goes you kiss port though? have you gotten everything up and running yt?
<sad_plan> iirc, you got it selfhosting now, yes?
<midfavila> kiss port? i haven't been able to work on it for a while
<midfavila> i had a basic thing up on the uconsole but it's not self-hosting
<midfavila> i'm still waiting on my workstation to get shipped out to me
<midfavila> my buddy keeps putting it off because there's a really unstable situation with canada post
<sad_plan> I see. why is it taking so long? I mean, how hard can it be to just ship it? does the postal service suck so much donkey balls, that you cant ship it just yet?
<sad_plan> is there any way to compile a toolchain with lto support, when the native toolchain is built without it? ive not had much success in this in the past, and usually just errors on lto not being supported or something of the sorts
