default packages should work fine with Wayland, are you using some exotic drivers?

initially nothing. everything works like expected, I just cant get wayland to work properly. I dont use much of the default packages. nor do I use default kiss. I run a somewhat wierd setup really.
<sad_plan>
I use oasis as my base, and just slapped kiss on top for anything extra
<sad_plan>
initially I use tinyx, but I wanna be able to play games again, which isnt really feasable with tinyx

welp I think that in theory all it takes is mesa, libinput, wayland, seatd and sway really for a pretty full-featured setup
<sad_plan>
dery: font rendering in foot is all messed up. i think its just wayland/foot that cant really read my font properly. I been wanting to use st from oasis, because it works under wayland, buut it just segfaults on me aswell :p
<sad_plan>
I built xorg instead, so atm, ill roll with that.
<sad_plan>
too bad it wasnt kiss linux
<sad_plan>
^the kde link that is
<sad_plan>

evahasarrived: it would be the other way around, but yes
<evahasarrived>
what do you get out of it
<sad_plan>
a 100% statically linked system built really quickly. oasis compiles really fast, atleast in comparisson to building software the way its meant to by default. might not be an issue when you have a beefier machine though
<sad_plan>
I just like how its designed really

oasis is also 100% reproducable. so thers really no supprises when you build anything using it.
<sad_plan>
appart from the idealistic view on it, theres really no benefit. theres no better performance, no space savings. rather the opposite I reckon :p
