In general, I believe anubis isn't as helpful as it used to be, as the AI scraper spam wave has changed again, and blocking tools haven't quite adapted yet. Based on what LWN has reported about their current spam wave, and some other sites as well.

Stefano looked in to it and saw there's just a massive load on the server, and I suspect that's due to being hammered by AI scraper bot nets now, that anubis doesn't yet catch / block.

alpine has had a huge wave, setting up go-away with PoW enabled has helped a bit (shouldn't be that different from anubis?)
