<r0ni> could I request that "libsass" be moved to opt from contrib? gtk4 (in opt) deps on sassc which deps on libsass and it can't be built without the contrib repo enabled as of now. Seems to be the only package I've found currently that has this problem

<braewoods> r0ni, not surprising if you know anything about CSS.
<braewoods> given how dependent GTK+3 and newer are on CSS, a dependency on a CSS generation tool is not surprising.
<braewoods> It's been ages since I messed with SCSS / SASS though.
<braewoods> It was just a language for generating CSS though. It was a way for various designers to make their CSS more manageable.
<braewoods> CSS doesn't have much in the ways of advanced features so it's no surprise it became a generation target.
<r0ni> no the deps aren't surprising, but again i thought there was a rule about making things in opt depend on contrib, as core, opt, xorg are the "supported" repos, yet gtk4 which is a supported port will fail to build without it. Therefor, breaking the chain.
<farkuhar> r0ni: reminds me of the repo_verify tool that sepen wrote long ago (the repo-level counterpart to prtverify). It was contrib commit 480197a08ea2c9d3a2048d72d4524a363db4b162 that moved sassc to opt 5 months ago, but it appears not to have been accompanied by a similar move of libsass.
<braewoods> r0ni, there's probably an exception for mandatory stuff like this. just needs time.
<r0ni> farkuhar: yes that does seem to be the case
<r0ni> braewoods: yes, just trying to bring it to light, so maybe in the future a move or decision would be made regarding it, in case no one was aware of said issue
<farkuhar> r0ni: here's the thread where you can get a glimpse of sepen's repoverify. https://lists.crux.nu/archives/list/crux-devel@lists.crux.nu/thread/2SMKZ63FBIKTP32VQUIMGCMTGEKCZUFV/
