<mkver> jamrial: Why did you use a ymm_reg instead of an xmm_reg for ff_pd_64? All the code only seems to need 16 bytes.
<mkver> Wait, 8*4=32, not 16
<jamrial> mkver: one function using it in vp9mc_16bpp is ymm

<haasn> ramiro: after the latest round of optimizations, I no longer even see any benefit from the "fusing many lines into one big line" trick
<haasn> turns out, just eliminating the inner loop was enough
<haasn> So I think I'll nuke it again, more headache for no measurable benefit

<Traneptora> BtbN: afaik C++ doesn't have "UB" but it just has "illegal C++" instead without a way to enforce the illegal at compile time
<Traneptora> which is the same thing
<Traneptora> for example, in C++, reading a union member that is different than the last one that was written is Illegal. but it's not enforceable by the compiler, so it's "effectively" just UB

<jamrial> BtbN: https://github.com/jamrial/FFmpeg/commits/nvenc_hevc_alpha/ slight changes to the tdrdi API to reduce allocations
<BtbN> Any reason av_tdrdi_get_display doesn't take its parameter as const?
<jamrial> i copied the design from video_enc_params and iamf. i suppose it's because the output entry is meant to be writable
<BtbN> hm, fair
