Is there any anti-aliasing/subpixel mechanism in foot? I'm using Ioseveka something as font, and am experiencing pretty bad aliasing on text when using XR glasses that anchor the screen in space (with a built-in chip, not with software) and I think their antialiasing is not enough to compensate when the physical pixel grid moves from the perfect alignment with the virtual screen. This is expected of course, but I think better anti-aliasing could make

it unnoticeable (as with Breezy-desktop, which is software spatial anchoring on the source device instead).

So to sum up, I know it's not a foot issue, but foot is a big part of all the text I read or write on my computer, so I'm wondering if there is any gind of subpixel magic I could use in it to make the situation better.

fontconfig config maybe

Thanks, I've made a config file to disable rgba subpixel, hinting, and use LCD legacy filter. I don't see a huge difference, if any, but I guess it does not hurt.

Interestingly the wavy effect/moiré is less noticeable when I lean my head on one side, thereby making the physical pixel grid strongly angled and far from the virtual screen grid.
