<bitbasher>
hi folks .. i could use some clarity on parameter lists for built-in modules
<bitbasher>
looking at linear_extrude in the scad editor i see two groups of parameters .. and looking at the code that parses parameters i see it has two lists .. the parse() function gets the argument object, and the two lists are called required and optional .. but they are not really
<bitbasher>
all of the l_ex params are optional .. a comment from kintel suggested they might be used as lists of the positional and named parameters .. but that might not be true
<bitbasher>
in the editor the completion list offers height, center, convexity, twist as the first 4 positional params .. but the code shows that the v vector is actually second .. confirmed by trying to put v=[0,0,1] anywhere but position 2 and getting a warning that it is over-writing a positional param
<bitbasher>
all very confusing ..
<bitbasher>
i think there is a bug report here .. anyone able to guide me on this?

<teepee>
linear_extrude is problematic as it has a deprecated file parameter
