question... i was working through trying to upstream a set of changes around sunxi (changing it from a arch specification, into a board specification), and I just realized it was submitted once before and "Deferred" without any real conversation logged

marex: good plan. I'd really like to see the Allwinner D1 (riscv64) code upstream. From what I can tell, it's working... just not upstream (which is a pet peeve lol, I refuse to work on things that only have u-boot branches)

yeah, one difficulty is the patchset above. It does a lot of reorganization of sunxi into a board vs an arch

zxux: I'm not a guru, but have you tried to check if you have CONFIG_DISABLE_CONSOLE enabled instead of adding CMD_TERMINAL support? (if you want to connect by serial to the device, sorry if I'm not understanding it right)
