hi, quick question just to be sure - when using `SRCREV = "${AUTOREV}"` in recipes, will rebuilding a image that depends on such recipes also trigger a rebuild of those recipes if there are new commits in their repos?

crazy_imp: this tells BitBake to automatically use the latest commit on the specified branch every time it fetches the source (usually from Git). So yes, new commits in the repo can trigger a rebuild, but only if the fetch step is triggered again.

RP: I see that you have dropped deferred inherit native toolchain class patch from master-next, as I mentioned last night, the build issue you observed is unrelated to these patches, I am waiting for these patches to push changes for making meta-clang work with oe-core again and also compatible checks etc depend on that, in current state of meta-clang its broken for several weeks

btw. I got hold of a fresh install of ubuntu 24.04 on a VM and I did not see this issue on it since it did not have gcc-14 runtime installed. So somehow AB workers have a different configuration perhaps

hi all. I'm working with a do_fetch[postfuncs]/do_fetch:append. The source is git2. I need to run command while I have network access; do_fetch. Effectively I need an implicit do_upack. This is for dunfell, kirkstone, scarthgap, and master. Any suggestions?

Ya, that's unfortunate. The "best" way to fix that would be to write a fetcher that understands gclient; if you "work around" it, you'll lose the ability to have correct mirror tarballs or offline builds
