<DC-IRC> [Discord] <endlessy> Do you guys have a place to track down people for paid work? I'm looking to hire someone to create a fast-booting custom image?
<DC-IRC> [Discord] <infinity_q> depends on what you mean by fast, I can make pretty much any linux distro boot in less than 5 seconds, but that usually means disabling half of the functional system and things are slightly broken
<DC-IRC> [Discord] <infinity_q> if you want something like an embedded distro, you would probably be better off going with buildroot or yocto
<DC-IRC> [Discord] <menu> +1 for NixOS, you can blob an armbian kernel in if necessary

<DC-IRC> [Discord] <igorpec> If you are / want to become a project partner / supporter, I will help you finding right person for the job https://forum.armbian.com/subscriptions/ (gold or higher). Technical wise - you are looking for something like this https://github.com/armbian/build/pull/8008 that boots on hardware you have. It took me three days to develop and polish this config for virtual environments. <clipped message>
<DC-IRC> [Discord] <igorpec> With bare metal its more troublesome and will take much more time, unless you will have luck finding someone else work. Produced kernel is very small and OS boots in around 1-2s. Userspace wise something can also be squeezed out, but not much more as Armbian minimal is already cut down.
<DC-IRC> [Discord] <jakesays> while trying to get wifi working on my opi 5b i get this while booting: "** File not found /boot/dtb/rockchip/overlay/rockchip-rk3588-orangepi-5-ap6275p.dtbo **"
<DC-IRC> [Discord] <jakesays> where can i find that file?
<DC-IRC> [Discord] <jakesays> also i don't have a 'hardware' menu under system in armbian-config. is that correct?
<DC-IRC> [Discord] <jakesays> that overlay is nowhere to be found under /boot
<DC-IRC> [Discord] <jakesays> huh. interesting. i switched to a different kernel and now my emmc boots
<DC-IRC> [Discord] <jakesays> now it switched back!
<DC-IRC> [Discord] <jakesays> that's seriously frustrating
<DC-IRC> [Discord] <Werner> its community supported. Its status is unknown to the Armbian team. Anyone can volunteer, dive into the issue and eventually come up with a fix. emmc has been known to be problematic for a while now. again reason unknown.
<DC-IRC> [Discord] <jakesays> i am aware of its status. i thought this was a community channel for rockchip based devices. i'm just hoping to connect with others who could shed some light.
<DC-IRC> [Discord] <Werner> Actually #ID:911725040528138324 would be correct. The SoC family related channels are more for about development of actually supported hardware. Though for now its also fine if you leave your message here.
<DC-IRC> [Discord] <jennienguyn> Hi everyone, I just flashed a self-built Armbian .img (built from the official Armbian GitHub source) onto my RK3229 device, but now it won't boot — no LED lights up. However, it's still detected in MaskROM mode. What could be wrong? Any advice?
