dsc_: @conversations: 'feeling' (fps) and launch time are exactly the same with gpu, no gpu or qt raster tweak on n900, weird
<arno11>
at the opposite, nomweather is extremely slow to launch on daedalus, even with raster tweak (which is buggy because of the same stack window issue we had previously with conversations
<dsc_>
arno11: speaking of launch time, I changed the way conversations launches just now
<dsc_>
because everytime you press on 'Conversations' @ desktop, it will actually launch conversations, only then decide it already exists, and switch to the other process
<dsc_>
now it just uses this binary
<dsc_>
anyway about nomweather
<dsc_>
I think my complaint is different from yours, because I am complaining about the overall smoothness/FPS of every application *except* hildon, that seems to run at a silky smooth locked 60hz
<freemangordon>
dsc_: because everything else is composisted
<freemangordon>
*composited

<dsc_>
right
<freemangordon>
so, some 10-15-20 fps down is to be expected
<dsc_>
its not the end of the world
<freemangordon>
right
<dsc_>
but as Steve Jobs I want 60hz smooth everywhere
<dsc_>
was just wondering if its possible
<dsc_>
its not Mali 400's fault
<freemangordon>
well, AFAIK there is no way to run compositing WM for free

dsc_: in Xsession, it is not conversations_qml by default, still conversations
<arno11>
and yeah, a way faster to launch :)
<dsc_>
arno11: yes, the paths stay the same, ./conversations will launch either qml or slim version
<dsc_>
you can configure this in Settings->Display
<dsc_>
so you dont have to change Xsession anymore
<arno11>
ok very nice
<dsc_>
Xsession should launch /usr/bin/conversations
<dsc_>
:)
<arno11>
ok cool
<dsc_>
oh ehh, since /usr/bin/conversations actually exits, I dont think the daemon service manager expects that
<arno11>
oh, indeed
<arno11>
freemangordon: no changes with or without patches on my device, still the same behaviour @SIP: only FS properties have an impact
<arno11>
works quite fine @incoming but it crashes sometimes after few min of call.
<arno11>
still no sound @outgoing call from leste
<dsc_>
fixed it, building now
narodnik2 has quit [Ping timeout: 245 seconds]
<arno11>
ok
<dsc_>
yes, much faster, basically instant now, will move to main repo

<arno11>
so fast that it is faster than transition :P
<dsc_>
arno11: did you try it? I think you have to killall -9 conversations
<dsc_>
this is 0.7.48
<arno11>
i mean 0.7.47
<dsc_>
try .48
<arno11>
yep
<arno11>
same as .47, faster than transition

abc
<dsc_>
arno11: i dont have the transition, probably because I use orientation lock
<dsc_>
(portrait only)
<dsc_>
test
<arno11>
on n900 custom transitions.ini (by default) is slowing down transitions a bit to make things smoother.
<arno11>
so probably not visible on PP
<dsc_>
arno11: are you in this chat via conversations?
<arno11>
nope, via hexchat
<dsc_>
the overview table doesnt update for me on new messages
<dsc_>
test
<arno11>
ah
<dsc_>
same issue as in VM, 'alt-tabbing' refreshes it
<dsc_>
probably pinephone specific
<dsc_>
well, pinephone and VM
<arno11>
by overview, you mean main window, right ?
<dsc_>
yes
<arno11>
no issue on my device apparently
<arno11>
(just to confirm)
<dsc_>
thanks
<arno11>
funny: it is now faster to send a tg msg (starting from desktop) than from my redmi andro 14...
<arno11>
*using _slim
<dsc_>
yes.. hehe :)
<Wizzup>
freemangordon: yes I can reproduce the problematic message
<Wizzup>
freemangordon: I will spend a bit more time later this week also to debug why the sub folders aren't showing

freemangordon: heh, just found an option in stalwart to disable automatic subscription for the inbox folder
<freemangordon>
dsc_: this means we have an issue with x11 backed textures
<freemangordon>
Wizzup: still, we can support that properly
<Wizzup>
freemangordon: yes, and like I said there is some more missing
<Wizzup>
the biggest problem was the negative uid
<freemangordon>
heh
<freemangordon>
dsc_: what was the issue number?
<freemangordon>
also, can you create a simple test program?
<dsc_>
freemangordon: yes, atm im debugging clutter/hildon but ill create an issue
<dsc_>
this occurs often; (/usr/bin/hildon-desktop:22234): ClutterEGL-DEBUG: 18:35:46.048: clutter_eglx_texture_pixmap_update_area: Falling back to X11
