Nordic countries people send MMS if receiver does not have Meta Whatsapp.

Indeed it seems that your operators does not have MMS support. And because it outside Europe, if I send prepaid card, it does not work long.

But it seems that operators on above configuration list still working and there is even more operators, Telia sell SIMs also in Finland and had started new MMS server for those users.

It seems that internet has lot of wrong information about MMS supported countries, because they copied list where you can send with some US operator (maybe Sinch), it does not support many countries.

Telia was not the only operator that has started new MMS server in Finland also Moi operator has started new server. So is MMS coming back as fall back sending pictures or audio from phone to phone?

In Finland I get two MMS today althought I haven send any in two years...Maybe it is because people that know me, know that I don't use iOS or Android phone.

hmm AFAIK, MMS still works in uk, ireland, france, spain and probably italia

I think every country in europe has at least one operator that support MMS, in Nordic all operators support. I think in Finland it would be problem if not support, Moi operator has started 2016 and support it these days.

I think If your operator support it you can go almost any country, because if I have understand right your phone get info that message that message is coming and then get connected to your operator server with gprs or packet data (3G-5G connection) or if operator allows then even with any internet connection.

Conversations does not have to show MMS itself, it can this way: show text part of MMS and and show button for click to open viewer for picture/video/audio part.

Openmediaplayer would be fine viewer for MMS video and audio. And gThumb would be fine show picture. And I don't how hard would be get open Contact with contact part of MMS.

I want to open a file browser (hamsterfiler) from another program, through hildon_uri_open (or similar function call)

if ask me, I would say port thunar with to Leste, it works fully already, only problem is to make more Maemo UI like....But I think without testing my self just reading code and run hamsterfiler from osso-xterem, I think reason is that code should print: "failed: Tried to initialized Hildon more than once."..or is it just warning.
