<ppetrov^>
I wrote myself a small script, called pkg-diff (very original name, I know), to help with managing a system by pkg-get. You know, after a "pkg-get sync" it will update packages with changed version/release number.
<ppetrov^>
However, something may have been rebuilt on the remote machine, because of a revdep report for missing libs.
<ppetrov^>
uch package will still have the same version/release, but it will be different, leading to potential broken libs on the host.
<ppetrov^>
Well, the pkg-diff script makes a snapshot (pkg-diff --snap) of the current PKGREPO to a custom place (/var/tmp/pkg-diff, suggestions for a better location?), so when you do "pkg-get sync" next time, simply doing "pkg-diff" will compare the freshly synced PKGREPO file to the old one, created by "pkg-diff --snap" and use diff to tell you what's, well, different.
<ppetrov^>
It will distinguish between packages with a changed version/release and packages with changed md5sum only. The option -lr (--list-rebuilt) will output only the names of packages with changed md5sum (pkg-diff -lr), so they can be easily parsed to update. I am a bit uncomfortable with awk and if statements, so I would appreciate if you guys take a look.
<ppetrov^>
As always, I am open to comments, suggestions, as well as degrading criticism.
<ppetrov^>
i know you guys don't like tabs for identation, please bear with me
<ppetrov^>
also, farkuhar has been updating pkg-get, so i'd very much like to hear his opinion
<ppetrov^>
need to go now

ppetrov^: farkuhar isn't here
<ppetrov^>
oh, noes
<remiliascarlet>
SiFuh: All of the sudden, I got Lavaball messaging me. Well, nothing bad was said, all he wanted was for me to confirm whether the screenshot in bilingual Japanese and English was actually correct.
<SiFuh>
remiliascarlet: He messaged me the other day. But I never replied
<remiliascarlet>
Well, since he didn't say anything wrong, I simply replied that it's correct.
<SiFuh>
remiliascarlet: Just saw a story. This Japanese woman's husband had Alzheimers and he never forgot the name of the dog right up until he died. The widow put the ashes of the husband in an urn and on the mantle. The dog refused to leave it. 1 year later the dog died too.
<SiFuh>
ppetrov^: I taught it in University back in 2003 but slightely back in different
<SiFuh>
slightly different*
<SiFuh>
ppetrov^: We should be grateful farkuhar isn't here. He needs to live outside of the I.T. life.
<SiFuh>
I also have something I want to bring up about port building. We can make the MUSL and the GLIBC ports very similar from the same Pkgfile.
<SiFuh>
Certain ports that need to be slightly different can have a glibc musl check to know which way to do it.
<SiFuh>
Only tweak is dependencies if it is an issue
<ppetrov^>
let him have a rest
<SiFuh>
let him live!
<SiFuh>
If he had stayed longer, I'd have taken him offroad 4x4 to enjoy the hard life.
<SiFuh>
Have to teach him how to operate the winch though because if he is my co-driver he may need to jump out into the mud and do stuff.
<SiFuh>
There are two operators for the winch. The one that releases it and unspools it and anchors it correctly. And the one driving who operates the winch

ukky: I waited 24 hours for the PVC cement to cure. Turned the water on and waited 6 hours. No leaks
<SiFuh>
ppetrov^: Thanks. Perfect. It will be available when I upload the Pkgfiles for the others to look at. Thanks again.
<ppetrov^>
Thanks again. <- Gaaay
<SiFuh>
ppetrov^: No, this is thanking you for the favour. Different rules apply here
<SiFuh>
And besides, I consider all you monkeys and clowns friends. So again different

SiFuh, re: 8 Billion. About what I expected. Next, show us all the food they eat in their lives. Then explain what corruption is and how it works.
<SiFuh>
Hahaha dlcusa I use to teach that if you farmed Argentina correctly, you could feed the entire world. Wasn't 8 billion then.
<SiFuh>
dlcusa: The question you should be asking yourself is if there are too many people than what happened to God? Besides, corruption is the biggest problem. Tower of Babel for example. It's just resurfaced into Cities where most people go to follow their new god. Money.
<SiFuh>
And here is a nice way to look at it. People can't buy or sell without money. And these days, it is always on their mind.
<dlcusa>
Money is a medium for exchange. Bartering is the activity money simplifies. Investing is putting your surplus to work.
<SiFuh>
Your surplus that is part of a system that enslaves you....
<dlcusa>
The system should do no such thing. Enter corruption...
<SiFuh>
dlcusa: Some of the guys break their vehicles then their trip is ruined because they are always worried about the cost of repair. Well, I broke my truck many times. But I came to the jungle to enjoy God's creations. I won't let it screw that up.
<SiFuh>
dlcusa: Well it was designed to usurp. The entire monetary system is a system of usery. It was illegal for centuries. But suddenly it is allowed?
<dlcusa>
Ah, gold and silver are money. Have been for a long time.
<SiFuh>
Yes and will never lose value because it physically is worth something.
<dlcusa>
But that's mostly due to how the world in general views it.
<SiFuh>
The concept of currency in the form of metals (Not precious metals) or paper was sold to the people easily because they didn't want to live in fear of being robbed or carry such heavy weight around (Exception is China where it was forced onto the people) but as you can see, whenever something exists to make _your_ life better there is always a hidden, future agenda to it.
<dlcusa>
Fiat is corruption based on lies it will always be worth something.
<SiFuh>
Until it isn't
<dlcusa>
And that's unavoidable.
<SiFuh>
This movie has a hacker in it. He's been staring at BIOS for about 5 minutes. Hahaha
<SiFuh>
Yes, Argentina, Zimbabwe, Germany just to name a few.
<SiFuh>
dlcusa: I found the lies Obama was vomiting about Gadhafi disgusting. Then they went in and attacked Libya. Right in the middle of the war, the fighting stopped, to establish a Central bank.
<dlcusa>
Hopefully the reign of The USA Left has ended.
<SiFuh>
All the greatest enemies of the US from the Bush era were countries that didn't have a Central Bank. Heh I remember in 2015 Obama was saying Cuba is going to be our ally, but that was after Cuba suggested establishing a Central Bank.
<dlcusa>
Now we clean up The Right (often wrong).
<SiFuh>
dlcusa: We can only wish, but communism is patient and it spans many generations to establish.
<dlcusa>
They do play the long game well.
<SiFuh>
Yuri Bezmenov back in the 80's explained what it is happening.
