<smoon23> Interesting. Do you have an example for such a program, leon-p?
<leon-p> smoon23: the typical example are status bars. I'd be genuinely surprised if they work well via xwayland-satellite
<leon-p> however there are actually some applications which use redirect override windows for pop-up menus and stuff
<leon-p> a lot of self-proclaimed "productivity" software related to creating music on linux has absolutely awful custom UI which is usually quite hacky
<leon-p> (reason n+1 why hardware synths and sequencers are more fun than DAWs and soft-synths)
<leon-p> I think maybe also the image viewer built into image-magick
<leon-p> but software that puts tools into separate side-windows is cursed by default
<smoon23> I see. I guess, I'll need to do some testing when I get some free time.

<leverarch> Hi there. I'm confused about which wlroots packages I should have on my Arch system. Currently I have two: "wlroots 0.18.2-1" and "wlroots0.17 0.17.4-3". This seems to prevent me from upgrading.

<novakane> leverarch: wlroots 0.18
<leverarch> when I try to upgrade via pacman, I'm told "extra/wlroots0.18" will be installed, and this seems to conflict with what I already have
<leverarch> I'm assuming this isn't a river issue, so will look into what's gone on with having those two wlroots packages...
