There are few files where get_maintainers.pl produces incomplete results, e.g. mailmap, maintainers, checkpatch, arm64 defconfig and arm multi_vx, and all these need `git log` or reading some docs to understand who will pick them up.

krzk, sorry, let me rephrase. The warning message bothers me, because my impression is that we shouldn't add maintainer entries for every device tree, so I don't want to keep getting it. If DT maintainers say, the warning has merit, we could document when MAINTAINER entries are appropriate for device trees and reword the message in this particular case.

I always understood that warning quite different than you, I think. To me it was a reminder - if I remove or add files, I need to check if any EXISTING entries in maintainers need updating, like not to have stalled entries or to include new file for existing entry.

Yes, that's how I parse the warning as well. My original impression was that particularly for device trees, MAINTAINER entries were not desired, so the warning was unnecessary, but I see now that my impression is not correct
