ppetrov^: sorry, I have no idea why farkuhar removed the section about "Directories" from the handbook
<ppetrov^>
i told them yesterday in #crux-devel... will ask them to add it back. Ah, and GIMP installs stuff in /usr/libexec. Otherwise, thanks for adding OTB terminus, much appreciated
<jue>
thank you for the reports, I've assigned beerman to the gimp ticket

Regarding the gimp build failure #38, I wasn't expecting poppler-ink to be auto-detected by other ports besides inkscape (whose cmake invocation receives special flags informing it about the non-standard install location). But if it becomes a problem that affects more than gimp, I can try to rethink that inkscape dependency.
<ppetrov^>
sorry guys for bringing up issues...
<farkuhar>
The reason inkscape was set up to depend on a custom poppler, is that it had a tendency to break after every poppler update, necessitating a rebuild. By depending on a duplicate poppler in a different prefix, the inkscape rebuild schedule (3+ months between minor releases) could be decoupled from the poppler rebuild schedule (~1 month between minor releases).
<ppetrov^>
poppler updates and inkscape is an annoying combination
<farkuhar>
Romster had a different solution: put the needed version of poppler into the source array for inkscape itself, and build that poppler if the one found on disk was incompatible with inkscape. That might be a solution worth revisiting, if poppler-ink causes more breakage beyond gimp.
<ppetrov^>
you are a hero, farkuhar , for maintaining inkscape
<ppetrov^>
when i used inkscape-gtk2, i had a bunch of stuff in custom logation
