<compnn> TheVibeCoder, dont they usually go to fate when patch is ready to be committed ?
<compnn> i can put them there if need be
<compnn> pross, how many decoders are you working on? :)
<pross> i have a few adpcm decoders in queue
ngaullier has joined #ffmpeg-devel
<compnn> neat
<compnn> any decoders that you are stuck on / gave up ?
<pross> L&H SBC: i have a working ffmpeg decoder for it, but i can't figure out what the algorithm is actually doing
<TheVibeCoder> the CELP?
<pross> no, L&H CELP is different, much simpler, codec

<dariusz> jamrial: we added patch with framerate option to APV demuxer, if you have some time could you look at it?
System_Error has joined #ffmpeg-devel
<JEEB> didn't we have some global system for plain bit stream timestamping?
<JEEB> could be misremembering, o' course

<TheVibeCoder> dariusz: i see 2 patches on list doing same apv demuxer thing, from two different authors
System_Error has joined #ffmpeg-devel
<dariusz> I mean Dawid Kozinski patch, but now I see that James make same change.
<TheVibeCoder> are patches exactly the same?
<dariusz> almost
<dariusz> both of them are doing same thing, but Dawid's patch have some unknown fate issues so James patch can be merged

<TheVibeCoder> michaelni: you broke native speex decoder completely

<kasper93> why there are two fate servers if none of them is maintained?
<wbs> because whoever wrote the new one didn't finish it far enough to replace the original one, and I guess nobody knows offhand what's missing there either
<kasper93> oh, you anticipated my question
<wbs> it's the main obvious question
<kasper93> I like that you can sort by status of the job
<kasper93> standard one is searching by number of tests, which is not really useful
<wbs> the old one allows me to list only jobs that belong to my runners, e.g. like https://fate.ffmpeg.org/?sort=descdate&query=owner:martin
<wbs> not sure if fatebeta allows that
<wbs> that's super useful for someone who actually tends to one's fate instances

<BtbN> Was about read to start debugging it, when calling it appears to have just worked?
<BtbN> That's somehow the worst result, now I don't trust it lol
<Lynne> does winapi have quic yet?
<BtbN> That weird udp http?
<BtbN> No idea, and I don't care about it either
<BtbN> I have blocked it in every firewall I have access to
<Lynne> oof, what's wrong with it?
<Lynne> apart from browsers almost never using it because autodetection is hard and its broken in many cases
<BtbN> It thinks it's more important that anything else. And since it doesn't use the well developed TCP code, it wins over it
<BtbN> At work (a campus of a uni), at times nothing except YouTube worked
<BtbN> and when looking into it, it was because enough people were watching YouTube, that the local branch which only had gigabit was saturated
<BtbN> and all the QUIC traffic just drowned out everything else
<BtbN> so we just blocked UDP on port 80 and 443, and everything worked again
<TheVibeCoder> lol
<TheVibeCoder> YT stole full net
<BtbN> Well, at the time YouTube was the only site that mattered which implemented QUIC
<BtbN> It's just another case of Browsers feeling the need to re-invent something that really didn't need re-invented
<BtbN> while forgetting to also re-invent the multiple decades that went into making TCP as good as it is nowadays
<kasper93> FYI, I did go balistic on oss-fuzz guys, because I think they are breaking the ffmpeg builds with this replay https://github.com/google/oss-fuzz/pull/13427#issuecomment-3014411830
<Lynne> even uTP has rate control
<TheVibeCoder> just rate control QUIC via firewall rules
<BtbN> The problem is just that it does not play nice with what TCP does
<BtbN> And TCP then throttles itself more and more, while QUIC wins
<kasper93> wbs: thanks for the tip, I was searching if this is possible
<kasper93> bookmarked
<kasper93> I'm waiting for mkver to push his fixes, most of remaining sanitizer failuers should be cleaned, probably not all, but hard to track all the patches on ML
