NishanthMenon: please have a look at my initial reply to yours :)
<NishanthMenon>
mwalle: i can respond on the list, but "I'd expect that Lee is picking up the first 6 patches after they got" - that is exactly the kind of confusion that maintainers hate :) .. example: why would Lee pick the "dt-bindings: arm: ti: Add bindings for Kontron SMARC-sAM67 module" ;)
<mwalle>
NishanthMenon: because its an mfd driver
<NishanthMenon>
yes, i know. subsystem maintainers prefer not to have dependencies
<NishanthMenon>
each series applies on our trees without generating warnings, that is usually what is preferred, unless there is a very strong reason.
<mwalle>
NishanthMenon: in any case, i'll wait for acks or reviews until I post a new version
<NishanthMenon>
mwalle, yes, that is the other option, Lee provide an immutable tag that i pull.
<NishanthMenon>
btw, for wider group's info: https://github.com/qualcomm/PatchWise/ is esp interesting if you use opus (been testing it against multiple models) ;)
<mwalle>
NishanthMenon: Having just one IB was my initial plan after all
<NishanthMenon>
mwalle: what is IB?
<mwalle>
immutable branch
<NishanthMenon>
aah
<mwalle>
lag's terminology :)
<NishanthMenon>
TLA (Two letter acronymn.. ) ;)
<mwalle>
but I'm not sure how well it will work with krzk renaming patch, We'll see I'd guess
<NishanthMenon>
what i usually suggest to people is to simplify the dependencies. introduce the dependent nodes in the next cycle.
<NishanthMenon>
keeps everyone sane
<mwalle>
NishanthMenon: but I'd appreciate a review of the device tree, or at least, if that's ok the way it is, e.g. the node references sorted alphabetically
<NishanthMenon>
will try and get some folks to review. people are out in OSS- EU this week
<mwalle>
NishanthMenon: I get that, I've already upstreamed the PMIC last cycle. But if i'll another cycle for every dependency that might take a while
<mwalle>
NishanthMenon: and I just noticed, what you mean, that was a typo of mine, the first patch should of course go through your tree
<NishanthMenon>
just keep in mind that patchwise are based on linux-stable (it is hardcoded).. so some warnings or errors it reports are not inline with master.
