sicelo: hi, weird behaviour @GPS: enabling/disabling it in settings doesn't work. it is always OFF on boot, then always ON if you start a gps app, then no way to turn it OFF until reboot or offline/stop/start ofono tweak
<arno11>
ofono 2 related ?

<inky>

<arno11>
same on n900
<inky>
but yes the code wan buggy on fremantle as welr i think.
<inky>
does shermans aquarium work on n900?
<inky>
if you install shermans plugin for live wallpaper?
<arno11>
i didn't try yet
<inky>
on d4 it never worked.
<arno11>
i'll try
<inky>
on pp it worked.
<inky>
i spent many days and nights back then to bring live mallpaper and shermans back to life.
<inky>
shermann used some gstreamer 0.17 functions that didn't exist today and i could not find documentation about those.
<inky>
i had to guess what they did.
<arno11>
ah ok @gstreamer

btw when the screen hangs, live wallpaper doesn't take cpu.
<sicelo>
arno11, Settings > GPS is basically "allow/disallow GPS usage"
<sicelo>
enabling/disabling the actual GPS hardware happens transparently, when an application needs GPS access
<sicelo>
on N900, GPS chip is completely hidden behind modem, so all interaction with it involves talking to the modem. gps-nokia-n900 has the required plumbing

<sicelo>
so, you are saying Settings > GPS off continues sending GPS data? it shouldn't. if it really does, then we have a bug in something liblocation*
vectis_ has joined #maemo-leste
<sicelo>
or you mean the GPS is still activated, based on the power draw? in that case, issue could be in gps-nokia-n900 or the hsi/ssi stack
<sicelo>
since we have issues with taking modem offline, I won't be surprised if it's hsi/ssi

sicelo: ty, and yeah Settings > gps off continues sending gps data, and gps is still activated according to power draw
<inky>
hmmm lapdock is not stable with d4
<inky>
it connects and disconnects.
<inky>
mouse usb type-a becomes hot
<inky>
when i get it out
<inky>
on daedalus
<inky>
mouse and keyboard don't work after some time
<inky>
If i connect external mouse then for some time it nhimulates lapdock mouse and keyboard to work
