<dsc_>
so what works now is merging contacts in address book
<dsc_>
so you can merge Tg and XMPP account and briong it under 1 contact
<dsc_>
I think...
<dsc_>
at least the code supports it, I dont know if address book can do it yet

dsc_: merging contacts worked in osso-abook (the binary) for a long time, did you add something to conversations, or?
<dsc_>
yes, conversations should now correctly use such master contacts
<dsc_>
or roster contacts
<dsc_>
normal entries as provided by CMs are transient
<Wizzup>
anything we need to do with old abook entries in the rtcom db
<dsc_>
no

dsc_: glad to see you are happy with abook API, finally :p
<Wizzup>
It'll be nice to add some of the fremantle gtk conversations widget parts if we can, 'create contact', 'merge with contact', and the contact selector for a new message of course
<freemangordon>
kidding aside, abook/conversations integration is one of the things that make maemo unique
<freemangordon>
Wizzup: sure, I can (and will) help
<freemangordon>
but please, lets not duplicate addressbook functionality in conversations
<freemangordon>
contact selector - for sure, yes

freemangordon: I am not happy with the abook API, but I am happy it is implemented correctly at the moment and it works well :P
<freemangordon>
Wizzup: as soon as proper ids are logged, addressbook (the binary) knows how to deal with
<freemangordon>
it also has some nice logic if data is missing
<freemangordon>
dsc_: heh :)
<freemangordon>
brb
<dsc_>
actually its not even about the API
<dsc_>
my beef is with glib -> Qt
<dsc_>
anyway
<Wizzup>
freemangordon: right, but I mean we still need the stuff in conversations
<Wizzup>
arno11: dsc_: I think this irc stuff ties into generic osso-abook dialogs I think, at least in part
<freemangordon>
right, we don;t distribute, not an issue though, you can just take those 50 LOC and embed the in conversations
<freemangordon>
*them
<freemangordon>
150, but still :)
<dsc_>
yes it ties into a greater effort for more ossofication
<freemangordon>
yeah, this will be useful in more places
<freemangordon>
actually, in theory, you should be able to embed arbitrary gtk widget in qt widget
<freemangordon>
but I am not sure we really need that
