<braunr> hello
<braunr> when using itm with a jlink, openocd tells me "jaylink_swo_read() failed: device: unspecified error"
<braunr> i'm careful to write to the itm only when its fifo is ready
<braunr> the swo pin frequency is automatically detected so i wouldn't expect a logic level change rate issue
<braunr> what i am doing wrong ?
<karlp> does it do this all the time? only sometimes? has this jlink ever worked?
<braunr> yes it ususally works very well
<braunr> usually*
<braunr> i think it's related to the amount of data being transmitted
<braunr> i usually don't have as much being transferred
<braunr> but i expected some messages to be lost, not low level errors
<braunr> could my swo cable be too long for the frequency ?
* karlp shrugs wouldn't expect a jaylink read failure then, just corruped data.

<braunr> the signal looks fine
<braunr> could openocd be too slow compared to the input rate ?

<braunr> or rather than openocd, could the jlink usb interface be too slow to transfer everything

<zapb_> braunr, I would assume that the SWO buffer is not large enough
<zapb_> you could try to allocate more memory (change jlink.c driver) and check whether you still experience this error

<braunr> zapb_: seems reasonable, i'll try that, thanks

<zapb_> braunr, what jlink adapter do you have?
<zapb_> braunr, please let me know if you have success
