<yaslam> ifreund: alright
<yaslam> the reason i'm asking is, i switched to river from xmonad which had a keybind for it, mod4+m, and it was very useful
<TheAnachron> ifreund do you mind spending two more sentences to explain why that would have side-effects?
<ifreund> TheAnachron: I was just refering to using zoom twice
<ifreund> yaslam: the river 0.3.x feature set is limited and will never satify everyone. Furthermore, the architecture is not extensible enough to allow people to add this kind of feature themselves "downstream" from my repo
<ifreund> The 0.4.0 release will rectify this limited flexibility: https://codeberg.org/river/river/issues/1299
<yaslam> ifreund: i see, no problem

<jkellogg> hey, does anyone know if there are plans to implement xdg-autostart in river? I would love to work on this if people think it's directionally correct
<ifreund> jkellogg: that's out of scope for river, based on the arch wiki page you could use one of the standalone implementations though with river: https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/XDG_Autostart
<jkellogg> i see

<nemoto> jkellogg: not to undermine the effort, i'm just genuinely qurious - aren't service monitoring & river init script enough for that task? xdg-autostart just adds complexity, no?
