Hi, i'm currently trying to write the acpi rsdp to the correct address. Unfortunately i can not write to the mem region 0xE0000. Is there a write protected area? Writing to address 0xD0000 is working (tested with mw / md).

Guest313: So you still have trouble with ACPI when using zboot? What sort of trouble?

Guest313: For EFI, I'm not sure about the efi_set_virtual_address_map() stuff. It would be worth checking the memory mapped passed to Linux when it boots, to make sure that it covers the correct areas

sjg1: i've tried to write the RSDP to the correct mem address - But it seems i can not write in this mem area. Also not working with the "mw" command (no error message / value stays 0xFF).

On "https://wiki.osdev.org/RSDP" i've found "Note: The standard methods to find the RSDP may not work on UEFI systems. Because of that, finding it inside EFI_SYSTEM_TABLE is the correct and reliable method (see ACPI 6.2 section 5.2.5.2 'Finding the RSDP on UEFI Enabled Systems'). "

So i decided to try "bootefi". With bootefi i can start the kernel and see that the acpi is working out of the box - Unfortunately the boot process stops with "efi_set_virtual_address_map" / i've posted the log yesterday (https://libera.catirclogs.org/u-boot/2025-05-14#)
