I wrote https://blog.dave.tf/post/ecp5-pll/ about configuring the ECP5's PLL primitive, in (I think?) more detail than exists elsewhere. I think at least some of this should live upstream somewhere. Should I try to upstream to yosys? nextpnr? prjtrellis? other? none?
<danderson>
I'm hesitant because documenting hardware primitives sounds like a prjtrellis thing. But this is specifically about instantiating the EHXPLLL techlib primitive, which is more of a yosys thing. But afaict yosys doesn't seem to carry documentation about specific targets, but I don't know if that's intentional or just "nobody's done it yet".
