macromorgan: are there any Anbernic RG353P schematics floating around?
<macromorgan>
unfortunately not, Anbernic never gave those out
<CounterPillow>
Aw :( Well I guess I just need to know whether there's some maskrom testpads to short. I've figured out I can hold down one of the volume buttons to get its vendor u-boot into loader mode

oh you know what, I think the F-button can put it into maskrom mode, it's connected to SARADC VIN0 and judging by the press threshold you have in the DTS that'd be around where I expect maskrom to see it as "please enter recovery mode"
<CounterPillow>
ok nope, voltage must be slightly too high for that
<qschulz>
CounterPillow: are you sure rk3566 supports selecting the boot medium from SARADC?
<qschulz>
I know RK3588 does, but I'm not sure about other ones
<CounterPillow>
qschulz: most likely yes on account of RADXA using this design on ROCK 3C.
<CounterPillow>
it's possible though that that's still their vendor bootloader thing, and the maskrom doesn't read it on RK3566
<qschulz>
so you need to short clock/data lanes of your boot storage media to enter USB boot mode
<CounterPillow>
Urgh, that's unfortunate
<qschulz>
on Radxa Rock 4D, you can see the first channel is called SARADC_IN0_BOOT
<qschulz>
and they are NOT connecting the RECOVERY signal to it
<qschulz>
that's a pretty good hint
<qschulz>
so RK3576 seems to have that support as well
<CounterPillow>
Yeah, I know RK3576 does
<qschulz>
(I didn't :) )

<qschulz>
RK3528 (and I assume RK3526 I guess) seems to have it
<CounterPillow>
RK3562 probably does as well, basically anything RK3588 onwards
<qschulz>
I would assume so, it's a pretty nice feature to have :)
<CounterPillow>
guess I'll be probing around for convenient eMMC test pads
<CounterPillow>
Speaking of which, if anyone wants to make a RK3576 handheld feel free to send me one c:
<qschulz>
CounterPillow: looking at the datasheet of RK3562, RK3566 and RK3588 it seems like it supports that kind if you find a pin named SARADC.*0_BOOT

So curious the new orangepi 6 won't be a rockchip, I mean rockchip going forward with new chips was a question, but i guess now it's an even bigger one?
