<pitillo>
hello, good day. I'm having a problem on an Orangepi RV2 booting U-boot at the MMC partition switch step. I've built U-boot v2022.10 (it's the current version supporting this device) with specific config options to boot from device 0 (MMC) and partition 4 (rootfs) (mmc part which has a wrong name, bootfs instead of rootfs, but I don't know if that should matter: https://pastecode.io/s/qtmahjgt).I'm
<pitillo>
getting the "MMC partition switch failed [ 2.103] *** Warning - MMC partition switch failed, using default environment" so I'm not sure if there is something wrong in the env partition stuff which I haven't modified. May be someone can point me or give a clue about where to look

pitillo: mainline uboot does not support the device ?
<marex>
pitillo: build that, your problem is likely fixed since
<pitillo>
I'm using the official version provided by vendor (and I'm currently trying to rebuild it from sources). I'll try with mainline but I think two weeks ago I tried it and I wasn't able to get Ky-X1 working.... Thank you so much, there is long path ahead for me but I'm enjoying it, so let's try again and keep reading documentation :)

pitillo: for vendor forks, ask vendor for support

thanks marex, I think I will keep trying to get it working by my own (hard way) and I'll keep checking for mainline support (I'm seeing the bananapi-f3 has been added, which has a similar soc). Let's see if the vendor does something to get an updated mainlined U-Boot working in their devices

Hi, I am using binman to create a signed fitimage on a rockchip rk3566 this seems to only build when i put the dev keys in the build folder. To create the idbloader.img there is a mkimage section i can modify the args to define where the keys are stored. Can anyone point me in the direction of getting binman to include an extra path to look for the keys

look into the etype and look at imx_cst etype for how this is done using env vars
