<DC-IRC> [Discord] <stalkeruser_42750> I think I solved the device tree
<DC-IRC> [Discord] <stalkeruser_42750> question about the `userpatches` for the kernel, from the doc is not super clear where to place them, for example for the orange pi 5b+
<DC-IRC> [Discord] <stalkeruser_42750> this is the command I run to compile: `./compile.sh build BOARD=orangepi5-plus ...` where would the *.patch files go under the `userpatches` folder ?
<DC-IRC> [Discord] <stalkeruser_42750> I found some one having a similar question but not sure what the right folder for 5b+
<DC-IRC> [Discord] <stalkeruser_42750> question about the `userpatches` for the kernel, from the doc is not super clear where to place them, for example for the orange pi 5b+
<DC-IRC> [Discord] <stalkeruser_42750> this is the command I run to compile: `./compile.sh build BOARD=orangepi5-plus BRANCH=edge BUILD_DESKTOP=no BUILD_MINIMAL=yes KERNEL_CONFIGURE=no RELEASE=bookworm KERNELBRANCH='branch:v6.14.5'` where would the *.patch files go under the `userpatches` folder ?
<DC-IRC> [Discord] <xmauritiz5959c> hey guys, good night
<DC-IRC> [Discord] <xmauritiz5959c> someone can help me install multimedia on my tv box? please, im trying from a long time ago but never works, unfurtunattelly i have Nand tv box so i can only use legacy version
<DC-IRC> [Discord] <human_urostor> What is your TV box model?
<DC-IRC> [Discord] <xmauritiz5959c> mxq 4k
<DC-IRC> [Discord] <xmauritiz5959c> is a rockchip 322x
<DC-IRC> [Discord] <human_urostor> What is your TV box model and what do you mean by "install multimedia"?
<DC-IRC> [Discord] <xmauritiz5959c> gpu drivers
<DC-IRC> [Discord] <xmauritiz5959c> looks like legacy images uses generic by default, i saw a message on armbian-box topic we can install gpu drivers on it
<DC-IRC> [Discord] <xmauritiz5959c> but i tried here and dont work, just issue and more issues in script
<DC-IRC> [Discord] <human_urostor> You have armbian installed, right?
<DC-IRC> [Discord] <xmauritiz5959c> yep
<DC-IRC> [Discord] <human_urostor> With a desktop? Or command line
<DC-IRC> [Discord] <xmauritiz5959c> command line
<DC-IRC> [Discord] <xmauritiz5959c> i tried do some command in desktop but always crash system idk why
<DC-IRC> [Discord] <xmauritiz5959c> command line seems more stable
<DC-IRC> [Discord] <human_urostor> So how do you want to install multimedia without a desktop?
<DC-IRC> [Discord] <xmauritiz5959c> i entered console mode just to do apt upgrade
<DC-IRC> [Discord] <xmauritiz5959c> because with desktop the system crashs
<DC-IRC> [Discord] <xmauritiz5959c> but i have a desktop interface, just enable lighdm again
<DC-IRC> [Discord] <xmauritiz5959c> if you want i can do it
<DC-IRC> [Discord] <human_urostor> Can it be a power issue? Maybe another usb adapter
kevery1 has joined #armbian-rockchip
<DC-IRC> [Discord] <xmauritiz5959c> i really dont know, i saw on armbian forum that could be a Nand issue
<DC-IRC> [Discord] <xmauritiz5959c> but i tried using a good quality sdcard and dont worked too
<DC-IRC> [Discord] <human_urostor> Try if it happens with stress-ng
kevery has quit [Ping timeout: 252 seconds]

<DC-IRC> [Discord] <xmauritiz5959c> ok, i will do a clean instalation again just for test
<DC-IRC> [Discord] <human_urostor> Also read what it says on your power supply, the power models
<DC-IRC> [Discord] <human_urostor> No need I think
<DC-IRC> [Discord] <human_urostor> Also read what it says on your power supply, the power modes
<DC-IRC> [Discord] <xmauritiz5959c> its becuase i already did sudo apt upgrade here
<DC-IRC> [Discord] <xmauritiz5959c> anyway, you have a nand tv box too?
<DC-IRC> [Discord] <human_urostor> So what? How does this break things?
<DC-IRC> [Discord] <xmauritiz5959c> i did in console mode
<DC-IRC> [Discord] <xmauritiz5959c> and looks like i cant comeback to desktop mode, wtf
<DC-IRC> [Discord] <human_urostor> No, and I'm not sure what you mean by "nand" here
<DC-IRC> [Discord] <xmauritiz5959c> well, these pirates tv box can have two memories there
<DC-IRC> [Discord] <xmauritiz5959c> nand and emmc
<DC-IRC> [Discord] <xmauritiz5959c> emmc can run the newest builds of armbian, more stable
<DC-IRC> [Discord] <xmauritiz5959c> nand can only run the legacy, 4.4 kernel
<DC-IRC> [Discord] <human_urostor> eMMC is based on NAND, it's all nand flash memory
<DC-IRC> [Discord] <xmauritiz5959c> well im only saying what the rk322x topic said
<DC-IRC> [Discord] <human_urostor> stress-ng works in a console anyway
<DC-IRC> [Discord] <human_urostor> You can test it without reinstalling
<DC-IRC> [Discord] <xmauritiz5959c> np, the instalattion is very fast here, im already in the setup password step
<DC-IRC> [Discord] <menu> did you read #tvboxes?
<DC-IRC> [Discord] <xmauritiz5959c> oh, sorry, i didnt saw it
<DC-IRC> [Discord] <human_urostor> Me neither because I don't have one. Sorry lol
<DC-IRC> [Discord] <human_urostor> @xmauritiz5959c you should probably ask here https://forum.armbian.com/topic/34923-csc-armbian-for-rk322x-tv-box-boards/
<DC-IRC> [Discord] <boogieboogieboogie> need some expert opinion about SPI controller of rk35xx, basically i am writing a userspace driver which interacts directly with SPI block's registers and bypass kernel and everything in between. My final goal is to read write to RK806 PMIC over SPI. I noticed that MISO and MOSI are wired through the same line and i guess thats causing some issues
<DC-IRC> [Discord] <boogieboogieboogie> code is here, https://github.com/hbiyik/mmm/blob/master/libmmm/devices/rockchip/rkspi.py
<DC-IRC> [Discord] <boogieboogieboogie> btw i think it is time to make new stuff official: https://forum.radxa.com/t/mmm-memory-map-manipulator-perfect-tool-to-un-break-your-soc/15332/6?u=boogiepop
<DC-IRC> [Discord] <microlinux> A mali m400 eith lima will do suck anyway. And hw video decoding? That should also work like crapp I guess. Maybe some h264 with hantro on mainline
<DC-IRC> [Discord] <microlinux> If it's the t760 it will also do suck, but it's already a much better deal
<DC-IRC> [Discord] <microlinux> But as multimedia goes, h264 is what you may be able to achieve, and that's all.
<DC-IRC> [Discord] <microlinux> I would just use android on those for multimedia.
<DC-IRC> [Discord] <xmauritiz5959c> i was using 21.02 version, legacy kernel armbian become a lostmedia
<DC-IRC> [Discord] <xmauritiz5959c> a friends mine had 21.05 and i installed now, looks like the system is more smooth here
<DC-IRC> [Discord] <stalkeruser_42750> seem I got everything right, but I don't see the NPU stuff for the rockchip using my patches
<DC-IRC> [Discord] <stalkeruser_42750> the patches also apply changes to the DTS files, are they getting overridden ? or how do I make sure it has the right device tree
