Good day

A question, is the MMU-less port working well with applications ? i see the comment, "do not use mmu-less, it will break most applications"
<jfsimon>
For instance webservers, would we be able to compile this sort of applications ?
<jfsimon>
Say, not running X, just LCD screens, but at least networking.
<jn>
jfsimon: for a comprehensive answer, i suggeset you grep for "depends on BR2_USE_MMU" in buildroot
<jfsimon>
Yes i think so
<jfsimon>
Thanks
<jn>
it depends not so much on the purpose of an application (web server, LCD user interface, etc.) but on the syscalls it uses. specifically, fork is problematic

jfsimon: Well the primary use is automotive embedded stuff so no webservers etc. Yes if you are not using virtual addressing the OS will need to manage the RAM/ROM, but if this is essentially a single application use then it's less of an issue.

GrahamNorth i'm not too sure yet, i have in mind dev of ardware but the choice of architecture is uite crucial
<jfsimon>
i couldn't figure out a right arch and os support yet, i made couple prototypes with small MCU, just bare metal and at most a freertos or something like this.
<jfsimon>
I want get something with external Ram/Flash to support an OS but not sure if get application mcu or no mmu core yet,
