SiFuh, I built rc on a glibc system -static, which I think should avoid any conflicts. Being able to build it in the ISO instance would be preferable, though.
<SiFuh>
dlcusa: Nice. I am not sure when I will continue working it on more. It's usually not a good idea for me to start messing with code as I will end up sitting in front of it for several days without sleep :-P So I am taking a break.
<SiFuh>
dlcusa: I think serpente will also test it soon, he won't upgrade to 3.8. He is sticking to 3.7. He wasn't impressed by 3.8
<dlcusa>
I wonder why...
<SiFuh>
Yeah, it's a bit of a riddle.
<farkuhar>
serpente wasn't impressed by 3.8, but pretty soon 3.7 will stop receiving updates. At that point serpente is on his own, keeping the ports trees up to date.
<farkuhar>
How long did the CRUX 3.2 ports collections receive updates? Surely long enough that users who installed chrony prior to the 2016-11-25 commit would have transitioned to the version that runs the daemon as a dedicated user. And yet we still have a post-install script being shipped with the port.
<SiFuh>
You always seem to get stuck on something and then just echo on about it for several days.
<SiFuh>
Haha
<farkuhar>
Several *hours* is a better timescale for my opt/chrony observations. But if you consider them just another variant on the theme of "junk files" and veering away from Per's vision, then yes, several days is a valid accusation.
<farkuhar>
I figured we deserved a fresh illustration of the departure from "no junk files" in the releases since frinnst's last, so I went searching through the core and opt repos until I found one.
