<sicelo>
i guess this explains why my fix works (at least for me) ... we accept and recognize all disconnects as long as we're not scanning. your patch only recognizes it while connected, so the disconnect is lost in a case like this.
<freemangordon>
mhm
<freemangordon>
now I am building with a fix that (re-)starts assoc timer on disconnect
<freemangordon>
that should do the job

freemangordon: preliminary testing indicates that the patch is working. tbh it looks like a variation of my patch, i.e. we're honoring "disconnect" in more states, not only when connected. main difference in new patch being the 30s wait. let's get Wizzup to test as well, so we can see if it solves his issues.

right, but that difference is crucial, as d4 (and allwinner) sends few 'disconnected' events which should be ignored

unless something is really wrong with the code it should be really easy to rebuild the package with a newer version of the source...
<inky>
Wizzup, it's me.
<Wizzup>
I think there are some dependencies as well and I'm short on time
<Wizzup>
inky: ah check
<inky>
i'll try to start today or tomorrow or during weekend. thank you for reminding!
<Wizzup>
if you think it'll just work I can make daedalus branches from the chimaera branches and if you tell me the deps I can run them in order
<inky>
i will also use latest version.
<Wizzup>
oh, great, thanks
<Wizzup>
I'd like to see if I can get hildon notifications on my pine time
<Wizzup>
(that'd be cool!)
<inky>
oh the deps are in the control file.
<Wizzup>
yeah, but there's many :)
<inky>
yeah.
<inky>
where was phoenix now?
<inky>
ah it works.

good.

How did you get Motorola Droid phones in Europe? I see some are from or in Bulgaria, I'm from Serbia & there are no models of those here. Just some ocassional N900s from keyboard-oriented phones.

Wizzup - thanks for the offer, but no need, It's better to give those phones to developers. I'm not a developer, just know some shell & tinker with Linux stuff
<fiftydinar>
Wizzup - also, Serbian customs introduced limitation of not accepting anything related to Lithium batteries a couple of years ago, so I couldn't order Polarcell battery for old Nokia
<fiftydinar>
Wizzup - so that would also complicate some things
<fiftydinar>
Wizzup - adding on my 1st message: I will however try to report issues like I did for couple of things & I might contribute some things in the future If I learn more stuff, who knows

arno11: no, it is not, you should dpkg-reconfigure iphb-dkms
<inky>
ok folks
<inky>
i thought that's a problem with just one image
<inky>
but i flashed one latest image for pinephone and its ui sees no wifi networks
<inky>
in terminal i see wlan0 card.

well, there's really a bug in either our kernel packaging or in dkms
<arno11>
indeed
<inky>
any tips on wlan on pinephone? nobody tried?
<freemangordon>
you'd better provide some logs (from icd2 for example) or some additional info
<inky>
how can i understand what is happening?

/var/log/maemo/icd2.log
<dsc_>
inky: wlan on pinephone?
<dsc_>
works here
<dsc_>
dont think I did anything special to get it to work
<inky>
hmmm. i just flashed another image.
<inky>
but wifi works. now when i search, it shows nothing.
<inky>
could not find network type to module mappings: Configuration server couldn't be contacted: D-BUS error: message recipient disconnected from message bus without replying.
<freemangordon>
ugh
<freemangordon>
seems like image has some issue
<freemangordon>
Wizzup: ^^^
<inky>
before i tried other, and that's why i wasn't using maemo on pp. i thought ok, i'll try another image one other day. and now this is the day.
<inky>
oh i also see macchanger.log in /var/log.
<dsc_>
inky: which pinephone is this?
<Wizzup>
which image is this?
<inky>
latest daedalus
<inky>
oh wait, could pinephone keyboard impact this somehow?
<inky>
let me try without a keyboard.
<inky>
but it was also with one of first images of daedalus too.
<inky>
i wonder why is there macchanger.log
<Wizzup>
what device?
<Wizzup>
what is ifconfig -a
<inky>
wlan0 shows up.
<inky>
pinephone latest edition. just pinephone, not pro.

<inky>
6.1.15 is too old, is there a chance you pull and rebuild with 6.13.latest? from megi's orange-pi branch, i guess it gets from correct branch.

and dsc built the new machine we'll use for building and maybe hosting... 64GB ram and 12 cores ryzen :)
