GaryM_: ok, seems modem rejects WDA_SET_DATA_FORMAT commands. that firmware you use, does it have source code available? as to me it seems it advertises WDA support, but there is no implementation.

Is there any plans go to from kernel 6.1.15 to 6.6 LTS with daedalus?
<Wizzup>
as in, what subdomain and such

<inky>
kiva, why 6.6? 6.13.x works amazing. i checked.
<inky>
kiva, that should be megi's kernel tree, i believe, i think 6.12 from mainline wasn't booting or there was some other problem.
<kiva>
inky: if 6.13.x is knowing good, it would good :) Does that fix PP screen update freezing, I think it is kernel 6.1.15 what makes that problem, am I right?
<inky>
yes i believe that does. i even tested that fix when i was on 6.12 for someone on pinephone irc. then it was pushed to mainline, and my 6.13.something has it.
<inky>
i mean i patced 6.12's device tree manually to see if it helps, then confirmed it on lkml.
<inky>
hm, can't find me there, may it be other thread?
<kiva>
anyway it has interesting info.
<kiva>
so summa summarum: ppl-gpu rate does not match to gpu when use 60hz refresh with PP, they have patched it to use higher ppl-gpu rate and they talked backport down to kernel 6.6, am I right?
<inky>
i don't think it is backported somewhere. i have no idea. i know it was not in megi's 6.12 and then it was in megi's 6.13
<kiva>
so they have only talked :(
<kiva>
actually we are lucky that PP had worked that much with kernel 6.1.x..longest time without that issue I have used is 10 hours, shortest 2 minutes. I have learned shutdown blindly :)
<kiva>
hint for shutdown blindly: push powerbutton and touch screen under powerbutton.

<inky>
kiva, to mitigate the gpu issue a bit you can use this script:
<inky>
i also gave you yesterday something, not sure you have noticed.
<inky>
yes, this: https://bpa.st/7KFA - don't know if maemo ships it, i don't remember where i have it from.
<inky>
in /etc/X11/xorg.conf.d/pinephone-keybard.conf
<inky>
> actually we are lucky that PP had worked that much with kernel 6.1.x..longest time without that issue I have used is 10 hours, shortest 2 minutes. I have learned shutdown blindly :)
<inky>
and even does photos!
<inky>
now we have gtk4 i might be able to port megapixels.
<inky>
but it's hard now. maybe some old version. because i was not able to build it on gentoo. :/

inky: thanks for those pastes.
<kiva>
hmm.megapixels works almost already its live view works.

pinhole worked with chimaera, but it seems that it not work with latest daedalus image.

<inky>
oh :/ so pity.
<inky>
at least it worked. kernel didn't change. i have no idea why would not it work.
<inky>
but megapixels is very polished in terms of colours. it gives very beautiful colours, unlike pinhole that creates extremely unpleasant colours, like first cameras in nineties.
<inky>
also i am able to customize megapixels to apply my LUT transformations to the shot frames.
<inky>
it has postprocess script which can be hacked.

inky: to me would be fine just manual camera setting (if there any in hardware) and plain raw-saving and then another raw viewing program (where to make postprosessing) and where to save to tiff or png.
<inky>
megapixels does exactly that. well i don't remember about manual, but it first saves .dng raw file.
<inky>
then applies postprocessing if you want. and how you want.
<sicelo>
Wizzup: daedalus - yes, with the battery & wifi things solved (if also fixed for you), i can't think of another blocker
<sicelo>
if anything slips through, could always do a hotfix of sorts
<kiva>
inky: I think that megapixels start working with little work with daedalus, because its live view work already, it only need somebody more skill full than me debug. Pinhole might be harder, because its does not show live view anymore.
<sicelo>
IRC'ing from N900 (with irssi) is real fun
<kiva>
oldschool IRC'ing :)
<inky>
cool!
<kiva>
what program recomented for leste to download file with url starting "magnet:" ?
<inky>
aria2c
<inky>
i would say.
<inky>
it is a commandline utility that accepts such files.
<inky>
and btw those are perfectly legit files. debian is downloadable by those. i guess no need to not refer to them by name. (:
