Oh, wow. I'm amazed the testing script algorithm caught the change 5970. It wasn't really built to catch that pattern, but just barely picks it up.
<InPhase>
Although I wonder if anybody ever goes through and checks the passing cases to see if a failure is missed. Maybe every testing report should include the images for one randomly selected passing case so that every time there's a failure, we visually inspect one pass as well. :)

hello world

newbie here
<wgetch>
is it possible to linear extrude with a scale defined by a 1D path?
<wgetch>
taking a look, I presume this also works with non-loops?

InPhase Yeah, I think it's due to 2-pixel wireframe width
<InPhase>
wgetch: Yep.
<InPhase>
kintel: Yeah, I guess that's just enough to get lucky. :)
<kintel>
I don't expect a ton of false negatives, and the ones we may find are likely tricky to spot for humans as well
<InPhase>
Anti-aliasing and all.
<kintel>
We could implement a slightly different diff algorithm and pitch them against each other :)

heh, with sufficient fine tuning it might work.

If anything, I'd love an agent that would go hunting for regressions and bisect their way to success. Sounds like a high-token-count endeavor though

Speaking of llms, after fighting it for a day, I managed to get jules.google.com to build OpenSCAD, but I ended up self-identifying as not the target customer ;)
<bitbasher>
hi folks .. a last question befor i go off to bed .. I put some change proposals in the UG and Lang Ref docs in the relevant talk pages .. will somebody review those? or is it customary that i just make the changes i feel are needed you all give feedback on the changes post facto?
<bitbasher>
i was just looking for notifications .. did not see any comments already .. maybe i just to take a more replaxed approach to the process?

bitbasher I'm not sure anyone monitors the talk pages, the most common approach is to just make changes, or discuss here or on the mailing list if you want to discuss it first

bitbasher: one thing to consider is that there's a number of incoming links to the docs, e.g. from the cheatsheet
<teepee>
as for the build instruction, I tend to think it would be better moving those somewhere else

I think build instruction should probably live in the repo?
<pca006132>
the further away it is from the repo, the less likely it can be kept up-to-date, from my experience

Also this is the first place I tend to look for this when approaching a new project.
<InPhase>
Step one, I check the README to see if it points me to the build instructions. If not I check for a ./doc/ or a ./maint/ or similar.
<teepee>
yep, either directly in the repo or in the associated wiki on github
<teepee>
slight plus point for directly in the repo I suppose
