<SiFuh> ukky: Never plastered a ceiling before. So the wife hired two guys to do the repair job. I sat and watched their work to see how they do it. Better than youtube. ;-)
<farkuhar> SiFuh: I wish I could trust youtube for instructions on leveling concrete steps that have sunk deeper into the earth on one side. During heavy rainstorms, the water has a tendency to pool against the exterior wall of the house.
<farkuhar> One proposed solution is to inject polystyrene foam into the void beneath the steps, so that when it expands, the steps will be raised and the cavities will be filled. But I can't see why the expanding foam would create greater lift on the side that's sunk more deeply into the earth, rather than just elevating the entire unit while keeping the surface slope unchanged.
<SiFuh> farkuhar: Youtube sucks for that kind of knowledge. There are ways. But first the ground should be checked and you can always use steel rods and concrete pilons. And also dig it out deeper. We have a case where and entire house sunk down on one side because the owners modified the terrain and it caused the water to flow differently. Even though they had modifed the land the company who built the house
<SiFuh> still had to pay compensation to repair it.

<farkuhar> I guess stenur will be resurrecting libao in his personal repo, now that it's been dropped from contrib. He would have preferred keeping it as a hard dependency of vorbis-tools, so that ogg123 is always built with the latter port.
<farkuhar> Nothing turns up with `prt-get fsearch ogg123` nowadays, but earlier configurations of vorbis-tools did have that binary listed in the footprint.
<farkuhar> For me at least, it's more convenient to learn the interface for one command-line tool that can play a variety of audio formats, rather than learning the interfaces for several different tools, each one supporting only a single filetype (however similar they may be in their default keybindings). Hence the decision to make ogg123 an optional build target.
