<dlcusa> Not to long, then?
<dlcusa> s/to/too/ and add ;-) -- yes, drinking 1st mug...
<SiFuh> dlcusa: Nope, not too long, I saw that all unfoulding in 1988 when I was in fifth grade.
<dlcusa> I started wondering in high school ~1965--what I figured out at that time was enough to decide not to pursue a bachelor's degree.
<SiFuh> If you don't go out there... everybody everywhere will say, "Clint Eastwood is the biggest yellow-belly in the West."
<SiFuh> dlcusa: I was 10
<dlcusa> "No brag, just fact."
<SiFuh> Yes
<SiFuh> dlcusa: I was staring at the wall thinking to myself "Seven more years of this. Why? What for?" Then I started to ponder on the entire system. I didn't like it and then it kind of made sense why, what it actually happening.
<dlcusa> Paying attention to the details is a life skill.
<SiFuh> dlcusa: I couldn't understand who has the right to tell me what to do? Who are these so called enforcement officers, why are they telling us how to live?
<SiFuh> That's when my rebellious times started.
<SiFuh> I couldn't get my head around it. Who are these guys can come into my house and tell me they didn't like something I did and lock me in a cage like a dog. Yet I can't go into their homes and say "I don't like what you did" and then lock them in a cage like a dog
<SiFuh> dlcusa: But yes, that article was quite good. I sent it to my brother and a few others. It explains perfectly what I have been thinking about for decades
<dlcusa> I understood authority, but then I noticed Federal authority started looking increasingly like 1930's Germany.
<SiFuh> dlcusa: My harness arrived. I still the static and dynamic rope. And the two lanyards for my next job
<dlcusa> Stay safe, SiFuh.
<SiFuh> Seems most climbing rope is less than 12mm but the standards for SIRIM safety is 12mm.
<SiFuh> dlcusa: I will be strapped by two rope 12mm and two double lanyards. So 6 points of contact.
<dlcusa> Prudent.
<SiFuh> I prefer not to die ;-)
<dlcusa> ...not to die too soon...
<SiFuh> When climbing the grill on the outside of the building I will need to move 4 laynard connections from the grill. The wind is insane up there.
<SiFuh> So always maintaining 3 lanyard connections at a time.
<SiFuh> dlcusa: And the rope is precautionary measure in case the grill tears away from the wall.
<dlcusa> Although you might be one of those who gets to transition directly into the new body.
<SiFuh> I think God will look down at me and say "Yeah, no, we save him a future date. He's a bit extreme for my liking"
<dlcusa> He does tend to keep His cards close to His vest. You can't spill any beans you do not have.
<SiFuh> dlcusa: I personally think I was born during the wrong time. I'm not made for this modern crap
<dlcusa> Yet here you are.
<SiFuh> Yet here I am
<SiFuh> dlcusa: Apparently Malaysian climbers don't seem to understand the importance of dynamic rope. I can only find static in every shop
<dlcusa> https://www.allsides.com/story/elections-california-lawmakers-approve-redistricting-plan-counter-texas -- I'm thinking this could lead to party affiliation effectively becoming a residency requirement for states--all folks will move to a state that will allow them to be represented in the government. Gerrymandering will no longer be "needed".
<dlcusa> Joke in the 60s: "Vote! Vote for the Kennedy of your choice, but vote!"

<dlcusa> Such universal voting-with-you-feet would set the stage to split the USA into the USD and USR countries.
<dlcusa> s/you/your/
<SiFuh> dlcusa: If Texas secedes, I want to change from US to Texas passport. Hahaha
<dlcusa> More likely the D/R parties will be superseded by two new parties with somewhat different delineations.
<SiFuh> dlcusa: Nick Fuentes for President!
<dlcusa> Can he get the votes?
<SiFuh> For sure
<SiFuh> But probably not enough to win.
<farkuhar> SiFuh: the guy in your story who kept talking and talking about his new religion ... it reminds me of the early adopters of Wayland, a few years ago.
<SiFuh> Texas, Here is my passport. Errr... Hold on, it is in my suitcase. Pulls out a 2' by 2' passport with 500 pages. Here, sorry, I've been to 37 countries all stamps and visas are on the second page.
<SiFuh> farkuhar: Olutmies ;-) The guy was an Australian Aboriginal
<SiFuh> That's two different replies. Don't get confused
<SiFuh> Hi! Do you have your passport? Hands over the Texas passport. Immigration takes off their reading glasses.
<SiFuh> The QR code is too big for our scanners.
<farkuhar> At least one of the Olutmies ports is supposedly capable of identifying similar images in a directory tree, ones that might only differ by a few pixels of length or width but otherwise depict the same scene. I'm currently compiling czkawka to see how well it performs on this task.
<farkuhar> The other candidate ports (found using `prt-get dsearch duplicate`) only look for exact matches (file size and md5 hash).
<dlcusa> All erasers are big in Texas, because all mistakes are big in Texas.
<SiFuh> Hahaha "What do you think of the new study about human's eating more bananas then monkeys?" "Yeah, I agree, I have never ate a monkey"
<farkuhar> rdfind helpfully outlines its algorithm: https://github.com/pauldreik/rdfind , while fdupes only gives a usage summary: https://github.com/adrianlopezroche/fdupes
<SiFuh> "It's been 47 years we've been married all you have is that god damned truck!" "I told you when I married you that you are all I had"
<SiFuh> "When I die, I want to bury buried with a bunch of pictures of you" "Oh that's so sleep" "That way God knows I've already been through hell"
<dlcusa> Oh, He knows.
<SiFuh> "What's your secret to living to 100" "I just ignore dumb folks and tell them, you're right" "That's ridiculous" "You're right"
<SiFuh> "Honey, if I don't make it through the night, I want you to marry James" "But you hate James" "Exactly, I want him to suffer like I did"
<dlcusa> Tevye: "You also are right." "We can't both be right!" "You're right."
<SiFuh> dlcusa: Dire Straits - "Two men say they're Jesus, one of them must be wrong"
<dlcusa> No, that's their first names.
<SiFuh> Industrial Disease
<SiFuh> I consider Mark to be one of if not the greatest Guitar player on earth.
<dlcusa> I know.
<SiFuh> I'd love to play the harmonica he plays those steel strings
<SiFuh> like he*
<dlcusa> Ever checked out Howard Levy?
<SiFuh> Yep
<dlcusa> Good.
<SiFuh> dlcusa: To be honest, there are hundreds of great harmonica players out there. But I find it usually isn't the song they play but small pieces and solos that are just insane.
<SiFuh> On of my favorites is the intro for Dionne Warwick - That's what friends are for? I think that one. And He ain't heavy he's my brother. It flows and just pulls in life.
<dlcusa> It's an amazing instrument in the right hands.
<SiFuh> I have a few hundred examples. But I think the Harmonica is an addition not a complete part of any song.
<SiFuh> dlcusa: In China I met a German guy named Bodoh. Which is funny because Bodoh means idiot in Malay. But that's beside the point. He was explaining to me that the human voice makes music better by introducing life and he drew a diagram. I said "Pink Floyd used dogs. You don't need human voice. You can make some incredible songs with instruments, the thing you really want is harmony, flow, and then energy.
<SiFuh> Give emotions" He said "Hmmm, I guess you are right"
<SiFuh> dlcusa: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fmL4RM7IA7A I didn't like this one. It's just noise.
<SiFuh> dlcusa: Ever seen these guys? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uT3SBzmDxGk
<dlcusa> Music is fundamentally about how it makes you feel versus think, IMHO.
<SiFuh> dlcusa: agree
<dlcusa> Oh, yes!
<SiFuh> Elton John hired them once if I rememebr correctly
<dlcusa> I love it when musicians can publicly laugh at themselves.
<SiFuh> This is not just music. It's art and acting. It's great
<SiFuh> They literally tore everything to shreds
<SiFuh> dlcusa: Me too.
<dlcusa> Isaac Perlman and Peter Schickele together! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XOe9cIdukas
<SiFuh> That Violinist looks like he is from that shit unfunny series Seinfeld.
<dlcusa> He owns a Strad.
<SiFuh> dlcusa: Tommy Cooper :-P
<SiFuh> dlcusa: “I inherited a painting and a violin which turned out to be a Rembrandt and a Stradivarius. Unfortunately, Rembrandt made lousy violins and Stradivarius was a terrible painter.” -- Tommy Cooper
<dlcusa> Be mindful of possibly false underlying assumptions.
<SiFuh> dlcusa: Yeah, like watching Tommy on stage live on national TV die.. Everyone laughing and they didn't realise he was really dying.
<dlcusa> And I must away...
<SiFuh> dlcusa: Their build up is to obvious about what is going to happen
<SiFuh> Hahahaha very good dlcusa. Loving it
<farkuhar> I'm disappointed in the czkawka similar image feature. It failed to identify the match between a 2937x1993 jpeg and a 2933x2020 jpeg, both cropped from the same original scan using `jpegtran` with different arguments.
<farkuhar> To the naked eye, it's clearly the same scene that was captured by the camera. And I don't even think there were two printed photos that got scanned on separate occasions. It was just an instance of duplicated effort, a failure to take inventory of what had already been processed.
<farkuhar> I could try lowering the threshold for what constitutes a match. Maybe the default algorithm is too strict.
<SiFuh> Too slow to type. 300 lbs hand crunches
<farkuhar> I changed the czkawka "similarity preset" to Minimal, and it still didn't detect the match. I guess I'll just have to clean up manually the redundant data created by invoking `jpegtran` on autopilot (without checking the existing inventory of cropped photos).
<SiFuh> Harness arrived today. Told the wife. DO NOT DROP ON THE GROUND. It will become rubbish. I am not dying because of micro fractures in the metal buckles. I ordered 30m x 12mm static rope and two 1.8 Proguard lanyards.
<SiFuh> All saftey gear cannot be dropped not even from a metre. It needs to be X-Rayed if that happens.
<SiFuh> Better to scrap and replace.
<SiFuh> I will be connected by 6 points. When I Amazing Spider-man that building
<SiFuh> Distance of fall is 50 cm to 2 metres. So static will work, even though I prefer dynamic.
<SiFuh> Distance to ground is 4 stories.
<SiFuh> Wind speed, unsure of until I test the actual day.
<SiFuh> At that height, a chute is useless. So better to rely on good old climbing rope and a harness.
<SiFuh> Next job is 32 stories. So I will probably buy a chute if I can find. But difficult to buy in Malaysia
<SiFuh> And at 32 stories, I really want dynamic rope
<SiFuh> But static is fine as long as the fall distance is reduced to less than 2 metres
<SiFuh> And if I do deploy the chute, it will likely stop KL traffic for a moment, and I will be aressted and thrown in prison for a day or two.
<SiFuh> Cars are not the problem though. Powerlines and lamp posts are.
<SiFuh> The wind can be considered my enemy as well but it can also be my friend.
<SiFuh> I can't fscking wait hahahaha

<SiFuh> farkuhar: Went to the Japanese restaurant today. Was saying goodbye to the kids and the the staff who own it. Got to the last table. Three kids are jumping up and down and waving at me. Mother kind of face palms herself. The kids wanted to meet a real cowboy. I said Cowboys are not from the US. They have then in Spain, South Africa, Australi, Mexico and the US to name a few. The daughter asks "you from
<SiFuh> where sir?" I replied "Australia!" "Australia has cowboys?" "Well yes dear but many of use dress the same because it is perfect for the weather" "Oh... Oh! I see. You ever work on a farm or a ranch?" "Yeah of course. I'm Australian" "So YOU ARE A COWBOY!" then they went crazy jumping up and down cheering. Hahahahaha
<SiFuh> I am no cowboy. I'm just a jungle kid
<SiFuh> dlcusa: Hahahah Wife says "You harness has arrived" "DON'T TOUCH IT!" Hahaha
<SiFuh> I said to her. Safety equipment CANNOT be dropped even from a metre. It must be nurtured and cared for like a baby. You drop it once, it's junk. It's dangerous to use. That shit needs bloody damned taken care of. It is very very serious because you can kill someone by a simple mistake and hide it. And as long as you don't touch it, you can blame the company if I fall to my death.
<SiFuh> So she is banned from touching it. It is between company and me.
<SiFuh> I don't need a wife feeling guilty
