f_: I think that closing it is fair. I intended to mention that something like #50 wasn't *our* bug either, but it looks like #49 is specific to how cage implements things, going by what dramforever[m]1 wrote

I think the real problem with gui on wtf you use is the excess of pref. Really would like it if FreeBSD had something that just wasn’t Wayland nor xorg and it was just part of the OS, like the kernel is part of the OS. But this is like a 25 year old problem for me that doesn’t have to be a problem if I just use Mac or windows and the I can have other problems that are at least more interesting or relevant.
<sq[m]>
And I can almost just resource limit a Firefox user and run it but no
<sq[m]>
And I mean this sucks dude, like this really isn’t interesting to me at all I don’t wanna solve this problem in 2025
<sq[m]>
Cool if someone else does but I don’t give a shit really have other things I need to do
<sq[m]>
Wayland does run on FreeBSD if you start it from cmdline still don’t know though wtf it wouldn’t work with lightdm though, but also lightdm doesn’t work anymore for some reason and yeah I don’t care dude it’s like I said these problems are characteristic of infidelity
<sq[m]>
Like if you could make some shit that is comprehensive, display server window manager compositor etc and just give it one name and name its dependencies consistently that might actually work that’d be really helpful to somebody like me
