<SiFuh_>
ukky: Hmm, looks good. Dewalt is usually what my brother buys
<ukky>
DeWalt, Bosch, Milwaukee, Makita: all these make good tools.
<SiFuh_>
ukky: I have Bosch and Milwaukee. But all my shit tools are Makita which were given to me
<ukky>
Makita is good. I have some tools from them.
<SiFuh_>
I personally think they are shit but I also rarely use them. Just free gifts from friends
<SiFuh_>
Heh ukky So the democrats are asking for gun control after a democrat Trump hater shot up a school. Gun control? The gun belonged to a cop.
<ukky>
There is no point to analyze what happens in US, as events there do not follow any law, agreement, or logic. Just random ideas that look great at this particular moment.
<SiFuh_>
ukky: I've never used dewalt but I heard they are pretty good
<SiFuh_>
ukky: Yeah like that black kid stabbing that white kid to death after he was asked to leave. Then the father was saying he forgives the black kid only for the father to end up being kicked out of the event with the black kid. The father should have stabbed the black kid then.
<ukky>
DeWalt power tools should be good, but I do not own any. I have drill bits, but that may be all I have from them.
<SiFuh_>
I tend to use mostly Milwaukee and Black and Decker myself
<SiFuh_>
I might buy a battery operated impact/hammer drill from Milwaukee
<SiFuh_>
ukky: I just bought a cold chisel. They call concrete chisel here. So I can smash a hole before I drill each hole
<ppetrov^>
I sure did, SiFuh_
<SiFuh_>
ukky: ppetrov^: When I go do eventually visit Australia I will have to find a place that can photocopy or digitize a book of mine. "Anthony Greenback's - The Survival Book" This book is like the bible to obtaining the right mind to survive everything impossible.
<SiFuh_>
When I do eventually visit Australia*
<SiFuh_>
Actually it was my father's book. He was going to sell it and told us to not touch the books. When he back was turned I pinched it because it the best survival book I ever read. And practically live by it.
<ppetrov^>
congrats
<SiFuh_>
Just did my passport photo. Lady asks "Your passport is almost 5 years expired. Why?" I laughed and said "Because Biden is a moron and I don't want to carry his legacy in my pocket"

SiFuh you are here

Oh wait, that's me
ppetrov^ has quit [Quit: Leaving]
<farkuhar>
Maybe cruxbot could be redesigned to generate a section on the crux.nu homepage (in lieu of the current News section). That way a visitor like erilun06 could see the ten most recent commits in the tracked repos, and not be misled by the long gap between numbered releases.
<farkuhar>
Void does something similar on its homepage, placing the ten latest changes to void-packages *above* the Recent News section.
<SiFuh_>
farkuhar: Been discussed before way back in Freenode
<SiFuh_>
In fact, I think it was also mentioned in Open Projects as well but didn't get any attention until it was discussed in Libera and then forgotten
<SiFuh_>
Libera/Freenode*
<farkuhar>
Heh, it's ironic that newbies find their way into #crux (rather than #crux-devel or #crux-social) to ask whether the distro is still alive, when #crux is the very channel where the cruxbot spam would reveal how active the distro is.
<SiFuh_>
I see it often
<SiFuh_>
Time for me to go shake my head in disgust at these retarded Australians in the series Alone.
<remiliascarlet>
ukky: Following US news is still entertaining up until 2028, if you want to laugh at the libtards.
<SiFuh_>
What the heck? This moron just ate an Arcitalitrus Sylvaticus. Like what the hell for? It's useless. Use more energy digesting one than what one has inside
<remiliascarlet>
Australian, Canadian, UK, and EU news are also pretty interesting if you want to be reminded to the fact that we are having a very free life in Asia in comparison
<remiliascarlet>
.
<SiFuh_>
remiliascarlet: In way we are.
<SiFuh_>
remiliascarlet: I actually moved to Asia to retain some semblance of freedom as it was so in-you-face obvious that the Western countries were raping it from you.
<remiliascarlet>
Speaking of news, remember the evolution vs spawning out of nowhere debate? Apparently there's a 3rd side now that believes that we actually originate from Mars, and moved to Earth due to an apocalyptic event. I tried to look at their perspective, but their "evidence" was that we get sunburn because "the sun is too string on Earth", so I labeled decided to not take them seriously.
<remiliascarlet>
s/string/strong
<remiliascarlet>
s/labeled decided/decided
<remiliascarlet>
Sunburn and skin cancer is caused by seed oils, not by the fucking sun!
<SiFuh_>
remiliascarlet: Heh, actually we originated on Tiamat, which got smashed to pieces but formed Earth and the asteroid belt, and we were GMO from Annunaki and used Mars as a Way-Station as it departed Nascar and was eventually heading towards Nibiru ;-)
<SiFuh_>
Nazca*
<remiliascarlet>
Tiamat?
<remiliascarlet>
Sounds like something you shouldn't say in China.
<SiFuh_>
Tiamat's destruction: The planet was destroyed in a cosmic collision or conflict with another celestial body, which led to the formation of the asteroid belt (between Mars and Jupiter). In this view, the remnants of Tiamat became the debris that we now call the asteroid belt.
<remiliascarlet>
I heard a little bit about the Annunaki before, but I didn't look into it enough to really know what to think about it.
<SiFuh_>
The creation of Earth: In Sitchin's interpretation, the destruction of Tiamat is tied to the creation of Earth, and the debris from Tiamat eventually became the Earth itself, or at least contributed to the formation of Earth's oceans and environment.
<SiFuh_>
remiliascarlet: I have the books everywhere around the house. I recommend reading The Lost Book of Enki. You will need to speak like Yoda from Star Wars though in the English version.
<SiFuh_>
It's short and way more breif in explanation
<remiliascarlet>
I only know the asteroid belt from all those space shooter games, I didn't even know it existed in the real world as well.
<SiFuh_>
There are actually two
<SiFuh_>
One between Mars and Jupiter and one around our solar system, the Kuiper belt but also many asteroids are on the same orbit as Jupitor so technically you could say two and a bit
<remiliascarlet>
Oh, you own a whole solar system? Cool!
<SiFuh_>
Our includes you ;-)
<remiliascarlet>
I know, I was mocking you based on whenever you mock me for saying "our" or "my".
<remiliascarlet>
Or "your".
<SiFuh_>
Good call but you ruined it :-P
<SiFuh_>
You should have said "Oh, _we_ own a whole solar system? Cool!"
<SiFuh_>
Then, I'd have laughed more
<remiliascarlet>
"You" in English can be pretty weird, since it can be both singular and plural.
<SiFuh_>
remiliascarlet: Here is one that made many people laugh. I could hear the wife laughing down the road. She sent me a message on Telegram "Aunty Sally drink the water from gutter" I looked at and thought to myself "WTF is this shit?" so I replied "Aunt Sally licks her own vagina and rectum." Then I could hear the laughter from outside.
<SiFuh_>
remiliascarlet: The most complex word in English is 'Get'
<remiliascarlet>
SiFuh_: I don't _get_ it.
<SiFuh_>
Well you'd better get then. Go get a dictionary and read it until you get it.
<SiFuh_>
remiliascarlet: It has like over 30 meanings that I can count. Probably even more.
<SiFuh_>
remiliascarlet: It reminds of South Park and Marvin speaking Matla
<SiFuh_>
In "Alone Australia," contestants must monitor their fishing lines to ensure they are following the rules set by the Inland Fisheries Service, which require them to keep their fishing equipment under observation and control at all times. This is part of the regulations that allow them to fish without a traditional angling license.
<SiFuh_>
Yet commercial trawlers can go out and slaughter all life in a single drag. Fucking shit fucks.
<SiFuh_>
remiliascarlet: I am really so tired of this. Big corporations can do basically what the fuck they want and use nobodies have so many laws and no money we can't do jack shit. Wonder how long before they tax us to breath the air.
<SiFuh_>
use/us
<remiliascarlet>
The only way around that is either join them, or go off grid. Anywhere in the middle you're fucked.
<SiFuh_>
remiliascarlet: Nah I am waiting for a UFO
<SiFuh_>
I am going to punch those little grey fuckers in the face and steal their UFO and find my own planet to live on. :-)
<remiliascarlet>
Do you want a UFO like in South Park, where they kidnap you to then tenticle rape you?
<SiFuh_>
Oh that's fake as. Why would Aliens make such advanced tech to fly light years to probe human anus'. Pretty queer if you ask me. Or maybe human anus' are very special. Hmmm
<SiFuh_>
We are sitting on a gold mine!
<SiFuh_>
And we are surrounded by real genuine assholes too!
<remiliascarlet>
Just like every advanced life form, they probably just want to research something they've never seen before.
<SiFuh_>
bluh bluh bluh bluh bluh
<SiFuh_>
^ reference to alien joke I told ppetrov^
<remiliascarlet>
SiFuh_: By the way, does IRC have an option to hide "wallops" messages? I have no interest in reading what a Libera staff member called "gay dragon" has to say, especially because they/them spews irrelevant bullshit to literally everyone's IRC clients.
<SiFuh_>
remiliascarlet: Yeah -w for your user mode
<SiFuh_>
/mode remiliascarlet -w
<remiliascarlet>
I'll give it a try.
<SiFuh_>
And yeah, I don't blame you. Any faggot telling you they are a fag is just fucking stupid.
<SiFuh_>
Imagine walking into a bar "Hi, I fuck women because I am a man who likes women" ....... fucking poofters
<remiliascarlet>
Also, note that I said "they/them" as an insult.
<SiFuh_>
I call them "it and its"
<SiFuh_>
remiliascarlet: Remember that joke? How can you tell a woman is a vegan? She told everyone when she entered the room. It's like who gives a flying fuck what you eat. And these faggots come in selling their poofter shit like the vegans do. Who cares!
<remiliascarlet>
Calling them "it" is a gamble, because some of them really want you to call them like that because "non-binary", and some others really hate that because "you're objectifying them". In any case, you can't win from them anyway.
<remiliascarlet>
Actually, the only way to win is to not play.
<SiFuh_>
Okay. 'Retarded mentally decrepit pond scum' Well retard for short ;-)
<SiFuh_>
First time I was told a man was a woman was in Thailand and it was clearly a man dressing up as a woman and I flatly refused to call it a she.
<remiliascarlet>
SiFuh_: At least saying "I'm vegan" makes sense if your friends invited you to a restaurant. But to just say that out of nowhere, indeed, who cares?
<SiFuh_>
"Hi, I am a vegan and chew other mens meat. I'm a poof"
<SiFuh_>
Bahahahaha
<SiFuh_>
Fucking put your shit back in your pants and get the fuck out of my face your retard.
<SiFuh_>
And stay away from kids!
<remiliascarlet>
Imagine a large guy saying in a manly low bass voice "Hi, I'm a cute little girl".
<SiFuh_>
They belong in a mental asylum to be honest. Something is seriously broken up there in their heads
<SiFuh_>
remiliascarlet: DJ Jazzy Jeff and the Fresh Prince - The Girlie Had a Moustache" ? "Hey boy you look mighty cute in them jeans" with a manly rough voice.
<SiFuh_>
watch?v=R_lJnUsZab0
<remiliascarlet>
Most "modern" developers are like that. It's really sad that we got legendary people who made OpenBSD, Linux, Doom, Unix, and all that, only to end up with men who think they're girls with cat ears forcing a COC(k) into every single FOSS project, and then hating you for not being one of them.
<SiFuh_>
Yeah had one huge Mike Tyson Gay fucker trying to get my arse when I worked for KKU. Another staff member I had told about it and he was so angry. He basically banned that guy from being anywhere near me. No way could I beat that guy back in those days. Today, I'd just smack the cunt in the fucking face and break a chair over his head.
<SiFuh_>
remiliascarlet: Theo is one ugly dude though
<remiliascarlet>
I don't know if it's his age of he's always been ugly, but I agree.
<SiFuh_>
Imagine if wore a dress and was trying to say he was a woman
<SiFuh_>
Always. Since I have seen him back in 2001
<remiliascarlet>
I can't see that happening to him anytime soon.
<SiFuh_>
I like the guy, just he isn't blessed with beauty
<SiFuh_>
remiliascarlet: I would be so upset if did. Hahahaha
<SiFuh_>
remiliascarlet: I never really liked Linus to be honest. I always found him to be a bit of a moron.
<remiliascarlet>
Maybe Richard Stallman not, even though he's a very hard leftist, he did get cancelled really hard for a whole year by these transformers.
<SiFuh_>
I liked Steve Wozniac though
<remiliascarlet>
I suddenly hear drunk people laughing in front of a 7-11.
<SiFuh_>
remiliascarlet: Yeah, I am downstairs. Found some new friends
<SiFuh_>
remiliascarlet: Soon we will start throwing small stones at your window to get your attention
<remiliascarlet>
Must be a very powerful throw if you can throw a rock all the way from Malaysia to here.
<SiFuh_>
There is a Matador with a ukulele and a rose in his teeth strumming away. And I bought a Vietnamese kitty chef so he will cook you a nice dinner.
<SiFuh_>
Bahahahaha
<remiliascarlet>
I suddenly got reminded to back when the Biden regime begun, the Babylon Bee nominated Biden's press secretary man of the year award, and Twitter (still owned by Jack Dorsey) immediately banned them over that. And then they got unbanned again after user backlash.
<SiFuh_>
No idea. But refused to update my passport when that fuck face was sitting on the throne
<SiFuh_>
I'd love to America change to a Cold Beer Constitution
<remiliascarlet>
And he also kept astronauts stuck in space for 9 months for political reasons too.
<remiliascarlet>
Just so that they could blame it all on Trump.
<SiFuh_>
And then Jeff jellyfish bowling ball Bezos faked 6 bitches going to space. They are such a joke. They think we are so fucking stupid.
<SiFuh_>
Well some people are. The injected and Covid believers are.
<remiliascarlet>
So the majority of the planet.
<SiFuh_>
remiliascarlet: You have friends?
<remiliascarlet>
Yes.
<SiFuh_>
How many took it?
<remiliascarlet>
I don't know, most people have proudly talked about it during the first 3 rounds, but then everyone turned it into a kind of taboo.
<SiFuh_>
Almost all my friends didn't take it. I even had former girlfriends contacting me asking me for advice and they didn't take it.
<remiliascarlet>
Among my friends, some took it, some didn't.
<SiFuh_>
My brother, all his friends took it.
<remiliascarlet>
The ones who took it refused to listen.
<SiFuh_>
So my brother is kind of shocked. I said "Choose your friends wisely"
<remiliascarlet>
The ones who didn't take it already knew.
<remiliascarlet>
So I had 0 influence in their decisions.
<SiFuh_>
I actually talked a suicidal friend out of it whilst in line, waiting for it over Telegram.
<SiFuh_>
Even his friend called me and said "Thank you for saving him"
<remiliascarlet>
Something that bothers me is that so many people even to this day believe that covid was a real threat.
<SiFuh_>
My Colombian friend was forced to take it. He refused but his mother and sister booked him in. I told him to make a call to the injection site and tell them "Something came up, better cancel not to delay others. I will call back later for arrange next appointment" He never called back. Said pretty much word for word what I said in Spanish though.
<remiliascarlet>
At this point, I just view it as natural selection.
<SiFuh_>
Yes! Every week at the Japanese restaurant I bring it up and watch the looks on peoples faces around me. Yesterday I said "Only morons fell for the scam" That is when the table to my right got up and walked out angrily.
<SiFuh_>
I was chuckling at the end of the night and the wife asked what's up. I said I emptied a table because they were offended. Fucking pussies! She didn't bother to ask anymore. I don't think she knows what happened.
<SiFuh_>
I've been having a real go at them. I shouldn't be like that but it is too damned funny to be real.
<SiFuh_>
remiliascarlet: my wife said she will have to take it. I said you do and we are divorced.
<SiFuh_>
remiliascarlet: The 'death 'till us part' line when you get married doesn't apply to suicide and knowing that it was Russian roulette that is suicide.
<remiliascarlet>
My mom almost took it too, but me and my siblings talked her out of it. I additionally told her to go through intensive care at her hospital, because she's a nurse. She keeps seeing on TV that the ICU's are always filled with dying people, so she went to an ICU and peaked through the window sneakily (because she's not supposed to be there), and indeed saw completely empty rooms.
<SiFuh_>
2026 is the predicted year that people start dying on mass. Wonder if it is going to happen. Hope it empties the Opensource communities of those faggots.
<SiFuh_>
remiliascarlet: I did similar. I went for a stroll through the hospitals here. Empty. Not even dancing nurses. I just said "Toilet" They staff pointed and I snuck through the wards. Told AlienBob about it in Slackware and he fucking snapped at me.
<SiFuh_>
remiliascarlet: One guy on slackware tried to use that Polio line to prove his point. Anyone with half a brain knows Polio isn't dead and it is mostly from vaccines
<remiliascarlet>
Every disease comes down to refined sugars, seed oils, vaccines, and Javascript.
<SiFuh_>
remiliascarlet: I was even told that I will be dead by 2022. Because I refused it.
<SiFuh_>
remiliascarlet: Oh wait, there is a lot more than that
<remiliascarlet>
SiFuh_: I was told that I'll be dead soon, they just didn't specify when.
<SiFuh_>
Javascript. Almsot missed that one speed reading. Hahahaha
<SiFuh_>
remiliascarlet: I like that joke about the doctor and patient. Doctor "Good news and bad news. What do you want hear first" Patient "Good news" Doctor "You have 24 hours to live" Patient shocked "That's the good news? What's the bad news?" Doctor "I forgot to tell you yesterday"
zorz_ has joined #crux-social
<SiFuh_>
remiliascarlet: During COVID everyone knew someone who died from COVID. But a couple of years later the same people don't actually know anyone who died from it. But everyone knows someone who died from the needle
<SiFuh_>
zorz_: The vaccinated COVID dick is here
<remiliascarlet>
Looks like the lethal injections work as intended then.
<SiFuh_>
zorz_: I was wearing jeans today. The lady at the photo shop said "They look good. They are very loose" Then I thought of zorz_
<SiFuh_>
Hahahahahaha
<SiFuh_>
remiliascarlet: Well the job was to destroy the immune system and stop people from procreating.
<remiliascarlet>
First they remember a certain event that never happened, then a different current thing happens, and they no longer even remember it ever happened.
<SiFuh_>
A weakened immune system and just send out shitty not so dangerous virus' will kill many without an immune system but the uninjected will be fine. MASS PANDEMIC!
<remiliascarlet>
I mean in the sense of making them programmable.
<remiliascarlet>
Apparently, even IRC bots from the 1990s are better able to pass the turing test than your average far leftist.
<SiFuh_>
The were progammed and being programmed since the 70's
<SiFuh_>
remiliascarlet: I am glad your mother never took it. I am actually impressed.
<farkuhar>
zorz_: join #crux-musl
<SiFuh_>
My wife's entire family and their children took it. WTF? My family on my mother/fathers side refused flat out.
<remiliascarlet>
zorz_: join #crux-zorz
<SiFuh_>
zorz_: Don't, he's talking to himself and go lonely.
<SiFuh_>
remiliascarlet: There is a channel on youtube that makes AI music.
<SiFuh_>
Some of it is pretty good because of my country taste but in general AI sucks at outtros.
<remiliascarlet>
I once made it generate an Anime opening song, and it was rather cringe.
<remiliascarlet>
SiFuh_: "Members-only videos cannot be watched with FreeTube as they require Google login and paid membership to the uploader's channel."
<SiFuh_>
remiliascarlet: Today I went to get passport photo. Asked if they had a suit jacket for fat people. Her face was funny. She asks "But you are not fat" I said "Trust me" She hands me the fattest person coat ever and it didn't fit. She turns to the wife. "His shoulders are very big" Wife knods. I said "Men must be strong. Not weak" She smiled, thumbs up and says "I agree" I said "I hate cowards"
<SiFuh_>
remiliascarlet: I don't register for any youtube shit or comment or log in.
<SiFuh_>
remiliascarlet: If it is 18+ I find a youtube download site to snatch it.
<remiliascarlet>
On YouTube, 18+ is often used as yet another tool of censorship.
<remiliascarlet>
I remember videos hitting too close to the truth about covid back in 2020 were forcefully made 18+.
<remiliascarlet>
Even though no adult content appeared.
<SiFuh_>
Found out some new news. That guy who took the injection and had a stroke and stopped contacting me. Then told my brother he has no idea who he is or me. Just found he does know me. He now hates me. And no one know why.
<SiFuh_>
Imagine 15 years hanging out together, steals many jobs form me. Talks like shit about me in front of his friends. Then lies to my brother he doesn't remember us. Then a friend mentions he will come to see me and the guy scoffs.
<zorz_>
always zorz
<zorz_>
hello japan girl
<SiFuh_>
zorz_: farkuhar wants you to join his channel
<zorz_>
fuck you SiFuh_
<SiFuh_>
He said he needs your liveliness to spark up the room and light it like lucifer
<ukky>
SiFuh_: Milwaukee PD705 looks good. The only thing I don't like is the chuck. Mine has special tool to lock it and release.
<zorz_>
tell farkuhar to fix in crux rc5 the bash.... cause it sources nothing from completions
<zorz_>
heh
<SiFuh_>
ukky: I am a chuck guy. I hate that twist lock shit. But anyways, the 1 star ratings about it burning out and catching on fire was funny.
<SiFuh_>
Yours was the last part
<SiFuh_>
zorz_: He's here stalking for you
<zorz_>
and change the default prefix of prtget-completions to something else than /etc/bash_completion.d
<SiFuh_>
zorz_: I see no need for a port that has *completion in anything.
<zorz_>
yes crux3.8 is huge improvement over 3.7... they changed the versions in Pkgfile hahahahah
<SiFuh_>
zorz_: jaeger said this morning it will be ready for release _soon_
<ukky>
remiliascarlet: I follow news about current US politics, but just for laughs.
<SiFuh_>
[08 03 49] [jaeger> Just nothing super interesting to report news-wise. New release soon, probably.
<zorz_>
i dont know.... has only an empty /etc/profile file
<SiFuh_>
ukky: I follow it because it is the modern Sodom and Gamorra and the world bends on it's knees for it. The way of the US is the way of the world.
<SiFuh_>
ukky: I didn't drill today. Tomorrow I will begin.
<zorz_>
Sodoma and Gomora
<zorz_>
drill a German arse
<SiFuh_>
I think there was 6 cities zorz_
<ukky>
SiFuh_: for every product there will always be one-star ratings
<SiFuh_>
ukky: I go to restaurants that have 1 star rating on purpose. Never found a bad 1 star restaurant yet.
<SiFuh_>
I didn't want to damage the wood I have. So I made the cutout out of cardboard.
<SiFuh_>
ukky: That is why I bought the cold chisel. I can smash a hole out using the stencil. Then drill it.
<SiFuh_>
Going to be a fun day tomorrow.
<SiFuh_>
See how the cheap shit drill bits last.
<SiFuh_>
Save the sacred good shit incase it gets fucked up.
<ukky>
SiFuh_: I use punch tool too on bricks
<SiFuh_>
ukky: I was going to say, I don't think I ever have drilled through bricks but then I remember I have. Behind concrete
<ukky>
SiFuh_: I switched sector size from 512e to 4Kn on one of my disks. Now it reports 4096 logical and physical sector size
<SiFuh_>
ukky: And?
<ukky>
Haha
<ukky>
Now I can use single disklabel to fit onto 12 TB disk.
<SiFuh_>
Nice. But how will some applications handle it? Will there be issues?
<SiFuh_>
That was rhetorical
<ukky>
How do you encrypt full disk in OpenBSD? MBR/GPT with single partition, then CGD/GEOM on that partition, then disklabel inside CGD/GEOM with multiple/single partition, then FFS/FFS2?
<SiFuh_>
ukky: bioctl
<zorz_>
now why in xterm i cannot type greek? but i can type in firefox? this is a new trick ? :P
<SiFuh_>
You need the right charset
<SiFuh_>
And the font
<zorz_>
let me see my xresources
<ukky>
zorz_: double check fonts that xterm uses, and your locale, lang settings
<SiFuh_>
zorz_: I use the locale from arch linux in crux. But no need in MUSL. I select all of them because multi lingual
<ukky>
zorz_: also, check setxkbmap settings
<ukky>
SiFuh_: Milwaukee switched all (most) power tools to cordless, at least on EU web-site. I don't like it.
<zorz_>
ukky: setxkbmap works... in firefox i type.... in xterm i cannot. i will find it.
<zorz_>
you see crux keeps you busy
<zorz_>
yesterday with new kernels 6.12 i had to compile brightnessctl... because on boot defaults to half brightness the monitor
<zorz_>
then i had to add this in /etc/rc.local in order to use it as a normal user
<zorz_>
they don even have brightnessctl in ports..... and they have all the rust crap
<ukky>
You guys have laptops?
<SiFuh_>
ukky: Most of us do. It isn't a surprise is it.
<zorz_>
yes i am with laptop
<ukky>
Just kidding. I have laptop too, but never use it. Last time I used it was about 8-10 years ago, when I went to another city.
<zorz_>
iam left with a question.... crux developers do they really use crux?
<SiFuh_>
Yes
<zorz_>
hahahahaha
<ukky>
zorz_: pretty sure they use crux.
<zorz_>
brightnessctl
<zorz_>
strange
<SiFuh_>
They use CRUX. No need to be pretty sure
<zorz_>
okay
<SiFuh_>
Although beerman uses Gayland
<SiFuh_>
And he is heavily pushing it onto everyone hence port deletions and new ports to support HIS system.
<zorz_>
ooooooooooooo speaking of wayland... I depreciated libinput, back in input-evdev and synaptics.
<zorz_>
better experience.
<zorz_>
nothing works ok in wayland.
<ukky>
My Crux systems use xorg-xf86-input-keyboard and xorg-xf86-input-mouse instead.
<zorz_>
even better
<zorz_>
i need to build firefox... nd i started nodejs, cbindgen, rust.... etc etc
<zorz_>
ukky: do you have a firefox/Pkgfile with no dbus and disabled audio backends?
<zorz_>
i will try one now with gcc not clang
<ukky>
zorz_: no, I use pre-built Firefox in Crux.
<zorz_>
okay... works with apulse
<farkuhar>
zorz_: Why do you care whether it works with apulse, if you wanted a build with audio backends disabled?
<zorz_>
[14:44:27] < ukky> zorz_: no, I use pre-built Firefox in Crux.
<zorz_>
[14:46:15] < zorz_> okay... works with apulse
<zorz_>
farkuhar: pre-built
<farkuhar>
zorz_: I'm aware of the limitations of pre-built Firefox for linux-glibc. But you asked for a "firefox/Pkgfile with no dbus and disabled audio backends", so I was wondering why apulse compatibility was even an issue for you.
<zorz_>
not an issue at all it works like a charm
<zorz_>
apulse firefox... just works.
<zorz_>
apulse borroed from stenur
<ukky>
zorz_: even mic works via apulse in pre-built Firefox
<farkuhar>
mic on the same soundcard that you use for output is easier to configure, though. If you need to emulate a full-duplex soundcard using two different hardware devices, that requires some trickery with ~/.asoundrc, I believe.
<zorz_>
farkuhar: the problem with crux3.8 is bash completions crux completions etc dont work
<zorz_>
i had to place the files in /etc/profile.d and source them from there
<zorz_>
plus there is no where somthing to source the /etc/bash_completion
<farkuhar>
crux3.8: the problem with zorz_ is that he uses bash completions instead of learning to type more quickly
<zorz_>
yes you find the solution
<ukky>
farkuhar: even single sound device require some trickery in ~/.asoundrc
<zorz_>
i like the middle finger on TAB
<zorz_>
:P
<zorz_>
farkuhar: with solutions like that, you ended up having Trump for president :P
<farkuhar>
zorz_: I don't actually use bash as my login shell, and the only completions I use are when typing a path. So I'm not strongly invested in troubleshooting your issues with /etc/bash_completion versus /etc/profile.d, except as an exercise in improving the opt collection.
<ukky>
me too, I only use completions for paths
<farkuhar>
But since zorz_ does not share ppetrov^s inhibition at posting in #crux, why not ask jaeger directly?
<zorz_>
i build my own way
<farkuhar>
zorz_s way is to create world-writable files under /sys/class/backlight/amdgpu_bl2/, rather than putting his normal user into a dedicated group and 'chgrp'ing the brightness file.
<zorz_>
you need polkit
<zorz_>
clever farkuhar
<zorz_>
farkuhar: i dont do polkit, elogind, etc etc
<SiFuh_>
farkuhar: That is because zorz_ is a distro whore and does EVERYTHING.
<zorz_>
ofcourse
<zorz_>
and i screw up with syslinux and i said fuckit, entered the uefi shell fs0: enter ls cd cd BOOTX64
<zorz_>
stayed with old good efiboomger
<zorz_>
hahahaha
<SiFuh_>
How can you screw up syslinux?
<zorz_>
SiFuh_: simple... i followed farkuhars guidelines
<zorz_>
hahahaha
<SiFuh_>
Mine is simpler
<SiFuh_>
zorz_: I actually made a cheat sheet long before SYSLINUX replaced LILO blob:null/4f96680c-8916-4f06-9426-6dbe92a6387e
<SiFuh_>
Left column MBR/BIOS and right is GPT
<zorz_>
wait i will check it later..... to many issues so far.... i dont have /etc/locale.conf maybe this is the reasonf for xterm and greek
<SiFuh_>
zorz_: Of course it is
<SiFuh_>
zorz_: download arch linux locale.conf. Uncomment what you want then run arch linux's command localedef
* SiFuh_
is going off of memory
<zorz_>
no this is the locale.gen.... ia have this
