<SiFuh_> zorz_ You are not here.
<farkuhar> zorz_: you don't need polkit or elogind. Upstream brightnessctl provides a udev rules file that will set the correct permissions on /sys/class/backlight/%k/brightness and /sys/class/leds/%k/brightness , all you have to do is ensure that your user is in the 'video' and 'input' groups.

<farkuhar> That's assuming zorz_ is still running udevd. Replacing udev with mdev (as ukky has done) is not supported by brightnessctl as designed; such a use-case must be handled by zorz_'s native cleverness.

<farkuhar> zorz_: You are here.
<SiFuh_> farkuhar? Did you know you are also here?
<zorz_> was here :P

<zorz_> i noooooooooooooo here!
<SiFuh_> zorz: No, you are over there
<zorz_> ooooooooooooo over there
<SiFuh_> No that's me
<farkuhar> over where? He can't be in #crux-musl until we modify the channel privacy settings. Since I haven't done so yet, should I assume that SiFuh_ has?
<SiFuh_> The channel settings are cunt.
<SiFuh_> I mean +Cnt
<SiFuh_> Same as here
<zorz_> farkuhar: go fix glad, mpv dependancy. myself i compiled mplayer as usual but glad not compiles, dont remember if is footprint or signature
<zorz_> SiFuh_: is nice if i keep running crux, i will keep farkuhar busy :P
<SiFuh_> Running? Or running away from?
<zorz_> cd lynis && ./lynis audit system
<zorz_> at the end away hahahahaha
<farkuhar> zorz_: the glad signature seems okay here, and I didn't get a footprint mismatch either. Did you override PKGMK_IGNORE_NEW?
<zorz_> eeee nice :P
<zorz_> ofcourse farkuhar...
<zorz_> i dont remember exactly... but because mpv has many python deps and libplacebo... i compiled mplayer
<farkuhar> zorz_: That's fine, you do what you have to do. But glad is beerman's port, and it looks okay here. Are you sure you're correctly remembering the port that gave you a signature mismatch?
<zorz_> wait
<zorz_> i will do again
<SiFuh_> zorz_: Thinks he is a traffic light now
<zorz_> let me find first the broom commands
<zorz_> doas prtwash -a -p
<zorz_> doas prt-get depinst mpv
<zorz_> farkuhar: https://0x0.st/8O0z.txt
<zorz_> and missing and new :P
<zorz_> SiFuh_: :P
<zorz_> this rdate thing that they do cron is nice
<farkuhar> zorz_: I have no idea why python3-build is installing LICENSE into that particular subdirectory. But the footprint mismatch could have been avoided entirely if we stuck to Per's vision, and got rid of junk files like that.
<zorz_> farkuhar: this is not my problem
<zorz_> please #crux-devel
<zorz_> :P
<zorz_> eee SiFuh_ ?
<farkuhar> Remember that the only targets for a depinst operation are ports that aren't already installed. prt-get 5.19.6 refuses to do a combination of updates and installs in a single transaction. If you already have an older version of python3-build or python3-installer, it won't be updated by the `depinst mpv` command. I suggest `prt-get sysup` first, to ensure your python3-build and python3-installer are the latest versions.
<zorz_> my system is new man
<farkuhar> zorz_: What's your excuse for not venturing into #crux-devel and making the request yourself?
<zorz_> they will upset me.... i like my nirvana
<zorz_> :P
<zorz_> ask SiFuh_
<zorz_> farkuhar: look mplayer for movies Depends on: libvdpau libmpeg2 libmatroska libass xorg-libxinerama yasm
<zorz_> why to use mpv?
<zorz_> :P
<farkuhar> Okay, zorz_ has a new system (freshly installed from rc5, I assume). I'm starting to wonder whether python3-build or python3-installer is selecting a different prefix for LICENSE, based on the locale settings that it detects on zorz_'s machine. I really doubt it, considering that pkgmk explicitly exports LC_ALL, but maybe python3 has some other ways to inspect the environment.
<zorz_> rc4
<zorz_> ooooooooo
<zorz_> lets see my env
<zorz_> el
<farkuhar> zorz_: Try unsetting LC_CTYPE and then rebuild glad. Do you get the same footprint as before?
<zorz_> i will do but later
<zorz_> now busy

<farkuhar> zorz_ asked "why to use mpv?" At least in my case, I happen to appreciate the convenience of lua scripting, which is how I coaxed mpv into serving as an image viewer, with the ability to crop the currently-loaded image in just one keystroke and two mouse clicks.
<zorz_> farkuhar: and you did well, i only need to play movies
<zorz_> so... with mplayer i get minimal dependancies... also i dont need ffmpeg... i use mplayers ffmpeg.
<zorz_> now i am changing pinetry gtk bullshit
<zorz_> basically i dont need to change anything he has a wrapper
<zorz_> cool
<zorz_> i will change the wrapper
