SiFuh_: The other day you said that "get" has the most different meanings in English. I looked in a Japanese dictionary, and queried some of the most common Japanese words, turns out that in Japanese "出る" has the most meanings (21 meanings).
<remiliascarlet>
I thought "する", "行く", or "来る" would have the most meanings, considering how common they are in different contexts, but nowhere near as many meanings as "出る".
<SiFuh_>
remiliascarlet: The word 'fuck' has somewhere around 25 meanings and uses
<SiFuh_>
remiliascarlet: "get" and "fuck" are pretty close
<SiFuh_>
So when you take the power of fuck and the power of get, you have a super-grammatical phrase that has immense power? "Get fucked" Hahaha

this with an api instead of grype is good for cron job

zorz: looks like you were right about nobody being proactive enough to write a port for brightnessctl. I just searched the portdb and came up with no hits.

zorz: Are you still hitting the footprint mismatch for contrib/glad?
<SiFuh_>
ukky: The quartz goes about 1/4" deep. Then a layer of concrete, then what appears to be brick tiles because of the dust and then sand.
<SiFuh_>
So 4 thin layers. But still took 2 and 1/4 hours to drill 12 holes because of the quartz mostly.
<SiFuh_>
I will do 12 more tomorrow if it isn't raining. It started raining today.
<SiFuh_>
ukky: I am actually pretty annoyed about it. I asked a guy if he'd lend me his Rotary-Hammer Drill. He said he will drop off the next day. The next day I asked "Where is the drill?" He said "Oh I am in KL now, I will drop it off in 2 days" 2 days later I asked again "Where is the drill?" He said "I will drop it off next week". Next week is done. So I asked again today "What happened to that drill?"
<SiFuh_>
He said "Oh, it is coming, I will bring it soon" I was angry and hung up. Then he turns up at my house today asking me to help him to do something. I asked "Drill?" He didn't have it. So I turned my back and walked away.
<SiFuh_>
Why say make a deal and say you will do something and you never do anything. So I used a toy drill to drill 12 holes today. I still have 12 more to drill. This is quartz and concrete. It is very difficult to drill through. If I had the correct drill, bet I would have done all 24 holes in less than 30 minutes.
<SiFuh_>
As I was walking away, he told the neighbours he will drop it off in the morning..... Yeah, whatever!
<ukky>
SiFuh_: you did amazing work

ukky: Heh. In Malaysia there is a Latent Act that allows you a 15 year window within 6 years of discovery to file charges if you find your house was built incorrectly. However, there is a 3 year extension if you only recently aquired the knowledge. Now a guy who bought a house in 2009 discovered his house sinking in 2018 is filing a case in 2025 with the Tribunal to sue my wife's company for his house
<SiFuh_>
sinking. Suspiciously around the same time he wants to rebuild his front porch. And the Consumer Tribunal has accepted the case! WTH?
<SiFuh_>
ukky: I told the wife. He is not really in the time frame, but on top of that. I doubt your company should be charged for what is most probably natural causes. But anyway. Knowing her boss he will just pay money to avoid the challenge.
<farkuhar>
Quartz and concrete is what SiFuh_ drilled through, versus the gypsum board on my kitchen wall where a nail had been hammered in by the previous owner. The harder it is to drill through, the more confident you can be in the load-bearing capabilities of any embedded hooks, screws, or nails.
<farkuhar>
I recently repurposed that nail to hold something more than twice as heavy as what had been there before. So far, the nail hasn't bent or dislodged very noticeably. But I'd prefer to add more supports rather than tempting fate by putting all the weight on the one nail.
<SiFuh_>
farkuhar: I actually hate gypsum walls. It's too fragile. Especially if you have kids.
<SiFuh_>
remiliascarlet: It's time again. Private contractors hired by Animal Welfare are picking up stray dogs from the street to euthanize. But here is the kicker. They pretend to be with Animal Welfare. They get money per dog they catch. They have always known that dognapping people's pets is far easier than catching strays. They use their fake authority and bullshit fake laws to confiscate peoples animals.
<SiFuh_>
They even try to use fake laws to get onto your property and even in your house to take them off of you. I wonder what happens to the collars.
<farkuhar>
SiFuh_: my city doesn't have a problem with stray dogs, but instead we have a sizable population of feral cats. Nobody cares to go around euthanizing them, perhaps because they help keep the rodent population under control.
<farkuhar>
SiFuh_: jaeger just changed the topic in #crux. Time to follow suit in #crux-musl?

<SiFuh_>
No. I was reading.
<farkuhar>
zorz_: okay, glad gets pulled into the mpv dependency tree via libplacebo. We should look into whether there's a substitute for libplacebo, if the glad footprint is so unpredictable.
