<farkuhar> zorz: python3-setuptools-scm might be another port that puts the LICENSE file into a different directory than the maintainer says it should. Can you confirm a footprint mismatch on your system? (1 NEW, 2 MISSING)
<farkuhar> python3-backports_entry-points-selectable has similar issues, but there it's just a question of how to normalize the directory name (if hyphens get demoted to underscores, then should an underscore get demoted to a period, or remain an underscore? The latter choice makes it hard to recover the original name, so they went with demotion to a period.)
<farkuhar> python3-distlib is another port that seems to be creating a subdirectory for LICENSE.txt now, where before it was putting that file in the site-packages/*dist-info/ directory.

<SiFuh_> ukky: Bahaha, got my hands on that Rottary-Hammer drill, finally! From that clown that kept not turning up with it. 12 and 1/2 holes. Measured to fit the spacings of the fence, Squared off and centred, Marked, Chiseled and Drilled.. 35 minutes! So much better when you have the correct tools. I power-washed both driveways and carports so the fence will be upright tomorrow.
<farkuhar> ppetrov^: uwumeowmeownyaa has joined us again.
<ppetrov^> the AI?
<farkuhar> ppetrov^: What makes you suspect that AI is responsible for the uwumeowmeownyaa posts?
<ppetrov^> sigh... we hat that joke with you
<ppetrov^> i am kidding
<ppetrov^> glad to see him around

<farkuhar> zorz_: Welcome back.
<SiFuh_> Hail, zorz, and welcome once more!
<SiFuh_> For it be I, SiFuh
<SiFuh_> farkuhar doth also grace this place.
<SiFuh_> I did opine that ppetrov^ had forsaken us, yet he remaineth still amongst us.
<SiFuh_> And dlcusa hath graced us with his esteemed presence as well.
<farkuhar> zorz_: Do you get footprint mismatches for python3-distlib, python3-setuptools-scm, and python3-backports_entry-points-selectable on your fresh installation of 3.8?
<SiFuh_> Wherefore doth ukky linger? He hath been marvellously mute this day.
<farkuhar> ukky: join #crux-musl and commiserate with us about the abominable state of /etc/rc
<SiFuh_> farkuhar, I should be most gratified should ukky take his leave to join #crux-musl and discourse upon the grave abomination of wretched coding that hath befallen /etc/rc.
<zorz_> /etc/rc
<SiFuh_> An abomination!
<zorz_> i just comment out the /sbin/lvm
<SiFuh_> zorz_: It's very bad code. Did you write it for beerman?
<zorz_> if i have /sbin/lvm gives an error
<zorz_> SiFuh_: no beerman stole it from you
<zorz_> hahahahaha
<zorz_> i have /sbin/lvm installed but i dont use encrypted
<SiFuh_> farkuhar: zorz_'s reply reminds me of the Smurfs "Where were you when God was handing out brains?" "Hmm, I think I was with you"
<zorz_> hahahahahaaha
<zorz_> powerman of gentoo has init for runit...
<SiFuh_> I was thinking to switch to sinit
<zorz_> can easily becoma rc
<SiFuh_> zorz_: farkuhar has dettered me from any future endeavors of working with CRUX MUSL. I think his catch has to be addressed and addressed wuite quickly
<zorz_> farkuhar: i dont have this python things installed
<SiFuh_> If not MUSL is going to have its own rc init script. Still can keep colours but written correctly.
<zorz_> yes
<zorz_> minimal colors are okay, as the make-up on a womans face :P
<zorz_> you wake up in the morning, and you wonder.... is really she?
<zorz_> hahaha
<SiFuh_> farkuhar: zorz_: I haven't told you something. But now is the day. Mr beerman wrote a shell script flooded with ascii smiley faces and frowny faces and winks to build a port and push to git repository. It was awful. This appears to be what he is doing now with CRUX rc scripts. CRUX doesn't need colours. But the fact it has been introduced only enhances my belief he is making it fancy.
<SiFuh_> And his taste in fancy is just, ewww.
<zorz_> what a fuck is this
<zorz_> # Create device-mapper device nodes and scan for LVM volume groups
<zorz_> # if [ -x /sbin/lvm ]; then
<zorz_> # /sbin/vgscan --mknodes --ignorelockingfailure || printf "$(BOLD "$(RED)")" "[ERROR]"
<zorz_> # printinfo "Found lvm, creating device nodes and lvm volumes"
<zorz_> # /sbin/vgchange --sysinit -a y || printf "$(BOLD "$(RED)")" "[ERROR]"
<zorz_> and so having /sbin/lvm does not mean that ia have encrypted mounts
<SiFuh_> zorz_: Yes zorz and he repeats printf "$(BOLD "$(RED)")" "[ERROR]" multiple times in the script and pulls an rc.function into it as well.
<zorz_> rottentomatoes!
<SiFuh_> Yet the printf is used incorrectly as well.
<zorz_> let me see if i ll find powermans
<SiFuh_> zorz_: Don't bother. No one cares. This is CRUX
SiFuh has quit [Remote host closed the connection]
SiFuh has joined #crux-social
<zorz_> i dont
<zorz_> :P
<zorz_> in a few years beerman will introduce systemd in crux hahahhahaha
<SiFuh_> I do not doubt it and there will be a huge backlash
<SiFuh_> But they will probably keep amongst themselves and just push it and tell us users to shut the fuck up.
<SiFuh_> These days zorz_ CRUX isn't built for the users. It is built for the developers and a port maintainer that 3 years ago, decided to modify the distribution
<SiFuh_> When he started pushing gayland over X11 and started dumping ports that relied on X11. It was pretty obvious. Even chinarulezzz abandoned the channel and he was a dev. Because of the way beerman was pushing things.
<zorz_> where are the python ports of farkuhar i ll try to compile them
<SiFuh_> zorz_: Join crux-musl and look at the topic and you will know.
<zorz_> okay
<zorz_> after compile
<SiFuh_> but farkuhar misses your presence zorz_
<zorz_> i dont like musl
<SiFuh_> musl doesn't like you neither
<zorz_> mutual feelings :PP
<SiFuh_> musl has no feelings
<zorz_> gcc or tcc
<SiFuh_> cc
<zorz_> SiFuh_: stop chatting and write an /etc/rc
<SiFuh_> No, that beermans issue. If it doesn't get resolved, I will step in and ask jaeger and jue about patching it. Just leave it for the beerman to fix first. He fucked it, he fixes it.
<SiFuh_> Plus it is considered uncouth in CRUX to modify someone else modifications without their permission unless they are stubborn.
<zorz_> fair enough
<zorz_> they dont ask for permission from peassants
<zorz_> hahahahah
<SiFuh_> They are my peasants.
<SiFuh_> And beerman has never even spoken to per.
<SiFuh_> jaeger has ;-)
<farkuhar> zorz_: No need to write /etc/rc from scratch. Just revert all the commits since tag 2.32, and start introducing any newly desired features from a clean starting point.
<zorz_> farkuhar: thanks i will do tomorrow
<SiFuh_> farkuhar: zorz_: I don't mind the new modifications. Just write it properly.
<zorz_> it was not like this... today i noticed it
<zorz_> probably last night update
<SiFuh_> There is an option that was introduced to select colour or no colour. Nice. But the code is freaking basic and incorrect with many violations.
<zorz_> yes i sellect color... but i see no colors, other my prompt
<zorz_> which is my prompt
<zorz_> :P
<SiFuh_> Me too. I get bold white text
<zorz_> bold yes
<SiFuh_> No red with errors
<SiFuh_> So maybe beerman has a special machine?
<SiFuh_> But to be fair, I don't see the point in this. Why bother? Just boot and read your logs. Most screens vanish in seconds. What is the point of being in colour if you got less than a second to read it?
<zorz_> coorect
<zorz_> and logs is pain to read with colors
<SiFuh_> It reminds me of your Greek Alien baby, Sisyphus
<SiFuh_> It's like he wants to convert CRUX into Arch Linux.
<SiFuh_> I actually disable colours in Arch. It is gross and filthy to look at. Like spam.
<SiFuh_> But no complaints because in rc.conf I have an option to forbid it from happening.
<zorz_> the only good thing in pacman is that you can set gpg keys for downloaded sources
<SiFuh_> zorz_: Osas left #crux. How come you didn't infor zorz_?
<zorz_> what?
<farkuhar> SiFuh_: don't you mean uwumeowmeownyaa?
<SiFuh_> Yes farkuhar, Osas
<zorz_> aaaaaaaaaaaaaaa
<SiFuh_> Uvuvwevwevwe Onyetenyevwe Ugwemubwem Ossas
<zorz_> kazan kazan
<SiFuh_> He calls CRUX what he wants. So we call him Osas.
<farkuhar> SiFuh_: "maybe beerman has a special machine?" One that takes so long to boot that colors are needed to keep him entertained while he's waiting?
<zorz_> the other day, i wanted ag the_silver_searcher... abandoned it does not compile with with new gcc. so i did not install ripgrep(rust) i went with ack
<ukky> SiFuh_: rotary hammer drill, nice. Proper tools for each task is a must, to make job easy.
<zorz_> ack3 perl works just works:P
<SiFuh_> farkuhar: I actually thought of that. I just think he likes ot put childish bells and whistles and flowers on shit.
<zorz_> he uses wrong distro
<zorz_> he should move to arch
<SiFuh_> ukky: Tomorrow is angle-grinder time. Flatten concrete to make a good base to level the posts and cut the mesh.
