Wizzup: @cloudgps: have a quite clean version to share: geocoding works (nominatim OSM); routing (OSRM) as well, showing total and remaining distance, drive overview with instructions
<arno11>
all of that with google maps tiles or OSM, google earth or satellite
<arno11>
but still some display issues
<arno11>
like instructions, markers and 'blue line' for routing
<arno11>
ah and routing re-calculating works on the fly
<arno11>
but i don't know what's the best option to share: creating a new branch in extras/cloudgps, or ?
<arno11>
(as it is still highly experimental)
<sicelo>
i guess if it's in -devel then it won't hurt anyone
<arno11>
sure, but ATM i use some modified already existing cloudmade and google maps related files in src to make osrm and nominatim working, which is a bit unclear from coding perspective
<arno11>
i just don't want to pollute existing branches :P
<arno11>
(until i make a proper MR with new geocoding and routing provider files)

arno11: new branch is good
<Wizzup>
arno11: or fork it to your own user on git.maemo.org
<arno11>
ok, will fork on my user first

<arno11>
hmm not this one too :P can't remember where is the proper one
<arno11>
anyway, i need to create proper providers files first
<arno11>
and then we can change default providers
<Wizzup>
ok, so what do I change to test
<arno11>
see previous msgs: select Google with R key and cloudmade with S key to be able to use osrm and nominatim
<Wizzup>
ok
<arno11>
and N key to switch maps provider
<Wizzup>
ha, I built it on my mz617 tablet and just now realised I don't have a hw keyboard on it :)
<arno11>
ah indeed that's a problem :D
<sicelo>
:-D
<arno11>
but i think it is quite easy to add few more touch BTNs to make it working with tablets or PP
<arno11>
but you can change default providers in .cloudgps/config.ini
<arno11>
btw
<Wizzup>
I'll build on my d4
<arno11>
ok
Livio has joined #maemo-leste
<Wizzup>
so how do I find a place/location or navigate
<Wizzup>
ah, d
<arno11>
click on 'binocular' touch BTN
<Wizzup>
yeah but when I use those it just navigates me to a gray map area region
<arno11>
hm weird
<Wizzup>
it says '3 results'
<Wizzup>
but I don't know how to see then
<arno11>
ah ok i see
<Wizzup>
when I manually select start/stop with long press something is happening
<Wizzup>
the screen is kind of bouncing back and forth now
<arno11>
start/stop what btw ?
<arno11>
you should start over imo
<arno11>
will explain what to do
<Wizzup>
start/stop as in where to navigate from and to
<arno11>
@3 results, that's because your request is not detailed enough
<arno11>
@start/stop ok, that' s a bit tricky, you should check if search/geocoding works first
<arno11>
then you can try routing
<arno11>
@routing: when you select 'from here/to here' and press D, the cursor goes to the begining of the route (zoom out/zoom in quickly) and start overview
<arno11>
ah ok sorry, looking @your msgs again, routing seems to work
<Wizzup>
right, but when I do that with d, it keeps 'shaking'
<Wizzup>
so how do I enter address 1 and address 2?
<arno11>
shaking is due to lack of zoom in
<arno11>
(that's a known issue according to TMO)
<arno11>
@address:
<arno11>
click on binocular, enter address 1, then click on direction from here
<arno11>
same with address 2 and 'direction to here'
<arno11>
but remember, markers and blue ine on road doesn't work atm
<Wizzup>
ok
<Wizzup>
so the click on direction from here is just to long press the map?
<arno11>
yep
<arno11>
you can modify direction from/to on the fly btw
<arno11>
but without the blue line you have to imagine lol
<arno11>
or press D btn
<Wizzup>
so without gps, it just does the whole route by showing how to go there?
<arno11>
yep
<Wizzup>
and with gps, what does it do? :D
<Wizzup>
can you route from the gps pos?
<arno11>
yes
<Wizzup>
ok
<arno11>
which map provider did you use btw ?
<arno11>
and did you try 3D and rotation ?
<arno11>
any crash ?
<arno11>
(P key to force rotation)
<arno11>
last question, how many fps ?
Livio has quit [Ping timeout: 244 seconds]
Livio has joined #maemo-leste
<Wizzup>
I didn't try to force rotatio
<Wizzup>
fps was like 50 I think
<arno11>
ok fine
<arno11>
and just to be sure, when you do a long click on the map, you see the blue menu appearing, right ?
<Wizzup>
yes
<Wizzup>
my fingers mostly cover the menu on the d4 though ;)
<Wizzup>
I suspect you use te stylus
<arno11>
ah yes i see
<arno11>
indeed i use stylus but mostly nails
<arno11>
this blue menu is bad, but reacts differently depending of the map
<arno11>
idk why but the menu works better if i use google maps
